Ducks/geese in our pool?
We haven't slept at our new house yet but we opened the pool, and just realized the dirt that is collecting in it on a daily basis is poop! We think ducks are swimming in it at night, could it be? Any suggestions and how to get rid of them?!
TIA!

I believe you can put up one of those plastic owls by the pool & that should deter them. This happened to my aunt.

Re: Ducks/geese in our pool?
we had them the first winter we were in our house. I think it's because the cover sinks so far down and makes a nice little pond for them. We eneded up getting a tension cover the next year and haven't seen the ducks since.
If the cover is already off, I would think you need to shock and get the pool clear as fast as you can - they don't like the chlorine

owls are good, but a shotgun works best.

LOL!
AND, with all duck / goose crap all over, i can't walk my dog in open fields b/c of the poop i would clean up!!?? We definitely need some kind of population control with these creatures!

OK where do I pick myself up a plastic owl? you think I can place him on a raft and have him float around the pool all night ?

Re: Ducks/geese in our pool?
Yes a garden store should have it or Walmart or such. That made me laugh, having him float around...

Re: Ducks/geese in our pool?
The plastic/wood owl or a plastic dog. Just make sure to move it periodically.
That will keep them safe and away.
We don't need population control with them, we need tax money to go towards keeping parks clean.
