Due date vs weeks Question
What do you go by?
Originally they estimated me at 3/21/08
But then after the sonograms they changed it to 3/24/08.
And I am now 15w 4d.
But some others here have a similar due date (just day(s) apart) and are 14w_d.
How does this work?

Re: Due date vs weeks Question
it goes by the first day of your last period.
lululu posted this yesterday: weeks
Then they may change it according to sonograms.
If you are due on March 24th (my anniversary by the way), you are 15 w 1 day.

Well, if they're 14w6d and they're 5 days apart, that makes sense. I do think that some ladies are actually incorrect in their calculations - I've noticed some women due after me saying they're further along

Re: Due date vs weeks Question
They will change the EDD every time you have an ultrasound. Based on my last period I was due on Feb 14th. Well with my last three sonos they had me at Feb 21st, Feb 18th and now Feb 11th. I am sticking with the Feb 14th due date.

When the technician looked at our sonogram the first time, they changed it from 4/3 to 4/1...so I was 2 days ahead...the last time, they found the baby was measuring at 11 wks 4 days, when we were really exactly 12 weeks. The doctor told us to go by the original 4/3 date...so go by what the doctor says. They said that the date would constantly change within 2 weeks of the original date bc it is growing. I said, "But the technician said..."and his reply was, "well she wasn't there when it happened, was she?"

Re: Due date vs weeks Question
My due date always changed with my daughter. It goes by your first day of your last period. If you are more than 10 days different from your First day of your last period and the measurement of your baby than they will officially change your due date otherwise go by your FDLP (this is what my OB said). With this pregnancy I was measuring a week behind, then 5 days, then 3 days. So it will constiantly change over the course of your pregnancy.
ETD: I am due March 23rd and am 15weeks 3 days today. Every saturday I am a another week, so every Sunday you are another week.

This part confuses me- bc March 23rd is a Sunday- wouldn't Sunday be your new week? I am due on Tuesday, March 25th- so I would count by Tuesdays- like today is 15w. But whattoexpect.com has me at 15w1d... which is right? I know it's so trivial, but for some reason, I obsess over progression.

Re: Due date vs weeks Question
Our sono person told us yesterday that the first sono is the most accurate due date.
Our baby is measuring bigger than the amount of weeks I am pregnant now. Originally it was right on target but now the baby is bigger. It's so hard to tell because first DS always measured bigger and came a couple of weeks early. I'm due Feb. 21st but I say sometime in February.

Mine has never changed even though the baby was measuring ahead of my due date at 22 week.
They say the first sono is the most accurate for predicting the due date, so I go by that. I will say though that my EDD based on LMP and my EDD based on my first sono were only 1 day apart so it didnt make a difference

My OB will NOT change my due date. Not that there is any reason to since all my sonos have shown the baby to be exactly the size s/he is supposed to be, but he has a policy against changing the due date.

What I should have said is that they will change what the baby is measuring. At my first ultrasound they did change the EDD from Feb 14th to Feb 21st because the baby was measuring 7 days small. They have changed it back to Feb 14th because at 20 weeks the baby was measuring ahead at Feb 11th. My doctor will change EDD if it is more or less then 5 days. I guess it depends on the doctor.

Re: Due date vs weeks Question
I have a question about this whole topic....
I know they figure things out from the date of your last period. But, I am wondering if the length of your cycle has anything to do with it? I mean, if two girls both had their last period on August 1, but one girl has a 28 day cyle and another girl has a 38 day cycle, for example.... are they at the same point?
TIA!
