Dumb Q- for girls towards the end...Regarding weight gain
I am 33+ weeks ...It appears that my weight gain has more or less leveled out (well compared to what I was gaining) and the # on the scale isn't moving much....
It's safe to say that the BABY is still gaining though right? I'm eating the same as I was , I just seem to have plateaued sort of (which for myself I am happy about) ...
The baby is measuring very big already, but we still do have almost 6 weeks to go, so I just want to make sure the baby is still growng the way he/she should...
You would think I'd know this by now

I didn't gain any weight at all between weeks 28 and 33. Then at 34 weeks I gained a few more lbs. Baby was fine and still growing

Re: Dumb Q- for girls towards the end...Regarding weight gain
between 32-34 weeks I think I gained 3 lbs. I haven't been gaining much at all this time, that was the most I've gained between visits, but it could have been all the cookies I've been eating. I go tonight for my 36 week appt, so we'll see what's happened. I wouldn't worry. I'm sure the dr. would tell you if he was concerned!

Yes - I really didn't gain between 26-30 weeks - I go back in 2 weeks at 33w to see if I gained anymore - the baby is growing fine I read so many places that weight gain can tend to level out at the end

Thanks for the replies....
Honestly if this baby stayed the weight it is now , he/she would still be a good size
But I am just confused I guess how a baby continues to grow, while the number on the scale doesn't...I guess more of my caloric intake starts to go to the baby

Re: Dumb Q- for girls towards the end...Regarding weight gain
yeah there are people that even lose weight towards the end and babies are find. I think at the end they say babies can gain UP to an ounce a day but even so that's about 1 lb every two weeks which isn't much on the scale. . so you're totally fine!
as my SIL who gained 8 lbs her ENTIRE pregnancy due to MS said, "those babies are parasites - they take what they need no problem!!"

I gained 7lbs my whole pregnancy with Sadie and she was born 8lbs on the dot.
Go figure.
