dumb question: about how many Dr visits do you make over your pregnancy?

meaning this......
i have my first appt in a little bit over a week.....
after that usually about how long until my next? a month or two??
and so on?

each doc is different - but here is my schedule:

every 4 weeks until i hit 28 weeks
every 2 weeks until i hit 36 weeks
once a week until the end

you should have an appoinment at 12 weeks for an u/s for part 1 of a test that has MANY names - my doc calls it a sequential screen. It's a 2 part test that takes place over 2 appointments....one part ultrasound and one part bloodwork at part 1 and the second part is bloodwork only.

you will also have a 20 week u/s appointment called a level 2 that can sometimes not be done at the doc's office because their equipment is not as fancy as the stuff at the hospital (mine is at the hospital)...

Well it depends on the doctor and you and the baby's health (whether you are high risk). But the general rule is starting around 6-8 weeks is the first visit and if you have a normal pregnancy - approx 1 time a month until about 28 weeks or so, then it is once every 2 weeks, and then between 36 and 37 weeks they start to see you even week.

Again it largely depends on the complications you are having and your doctors office/schedule.

Also, between 26-28 weeks, you will have your 1 hour glucose test as well.
