Does anyone use one? I saw them in Home Depot today. Sometimes we come home to a dark outside porch trying to put key in and I thought this might be a good idea if we were away. Does it really work?

I have one on my back porch. It stays on pretty much all day, the sensors aren't great if it's overcast.

I have smart bulbs that I control with an app and Alexa in the front. They are set to go on a certain time, and off at a certain time. We have quite a few of them inside also, and smart plugs. They are great when we are away! I have Kasa brand, and you can get them on Amazon or even at Walmart

I have a solar one and i thought it would be junk, but the thing is always charged and works great. Its just enough for me to have some light while fishing for my key and getting it in the door.

Do you know what type of light this is - my parents need one by their door when getting in

I have a few solar ones also, but it's a flood light type thing, where it goes on with motion. I have it over my garage and various spots around my house. Keep in mind, it doesn't turn on unless it has motion though. It's bright though!

Thanks so much for responses. I don't have enough sun in the area for a solar light. Very shaded area as my house faces north.

You can just put your light on a timer and set it to come on/go off at certain times.

We just installed a dust to dawn light bulb & we love it. No more worrying about remembering to turn the light on or off.
