Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
This place is really fun for the family. We used to go there as kids and they have just renovated it. Delicious food!

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
OK...I'm a MORON when it comes to directions but I looked it up on mapquest and it looks like if you are heading back to LI from albany you would jumjp off of 87 south and go about 150 miles off route.

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
One day there is enough, maybe 1 1/2 because the water part is fun. We took dd there last year with a bunch of friends, we had a blast!
Albany is north, dutch wonderland is southwest. Totally opposite direction.

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
I stayed at Willow Valley - it was really great bc they have an indoor mini water park so in case the weather isnt great, at least your DC will have fun! Plus the food/hotel is really great-you wont be dissapointed. I think 2 days is fine, you can go to the park and perhaps the factory outlets nearby. Not sure how close it is to Albany tho, sorry!

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
We are going this month, so I will let you know how it is. We are only doing sat to sun and I understand there is a huge outlet center right there. Its in Amish country, there is a whole welcome center website that lists the hotels and local attractions.

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
There are great outlets. There is also a wax museum next door which is kind of lame but I loved it as a kid. There is a go cart place nearby- it is a fun trip!
BTW I have stayed at willow valley and it is really nice.

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
If your Ryan is into trains like mine, Stratsburg railroad is near by and he LOVED that.
For those of you going on a Sunday, warning.... it is amish country so I have heard that ALOT of things there are closed on sundays. I am sure the park is open so you may want to save that for Sunday

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
I totally forgot about this thread... haha!!!
So Willow Valley is the hotel nearby? Or Dutch Wonderland has its own hotel?
Where did everyone say?
Rose- is RJ (who will be 3 months shy of 2) too little for the train place?
Should I do 2 nights or 1??

Re: Dutch Wonderland trip
I just have to share because Im so excited..
I just realized that Dutch Wond. is nice and close to my fav. camp grounds (DH and I have been going there forever)
Yogi Bears Jellystone Park
We usually rent a cabin (I dont do the whole sleeping in a tent thing hahaha) which has a bedroom, full bath, kitchen, BBQ and more...
There is so much for kids to do there (org. activities, pool, mini golf etc...)
I think we are gonna go this route...Thanks for all the help ladies!!!!
Here is the link to camp grounds in case anyone is interested
