Dyeing (sp) clothing

I have a denim-ish jacket that sat in the car and faded in spots. I don't want to get rid of it, but in order to wear it, it needs to even out in color. How can I dye it? Do I do it in the bathtub? Do I bring it somewhere?

you could use that Rit dye in the washer. I had used it on a pair of jeans to make them a tad darker- I used alot less of the powder than what it said to use. came out good
