ear infection, food allergy or faker faker belly acher lol
So dd is doing this weird cough sound with her throat. She has been doing it for hours. She does have a double ear infection but her only symptom was a runny nose and she has been on antibiotics since Saturday. Today was day 3 of peas. I did not notice any issues the first 2 days she had them. She sort of smiles when she does this "cough" so thinking it may be a new found sound and she is just faking it lol
Any ideas. Do babies do this fake cough sound or does it seem like her throat could be bothering her? Don't want to rush to dr since we were just there and she is on meds but if it continues I may just need to go for reassurance

Ok, I think we have the same child! Not only were they born on the same day but it seems like I can relate to every post you make...
Anthony JUST started doing this over the weekend. He pants for a few seconds and that progresses into a cough, which progresses into a laugh after I give him a weird look like "What are you doing, kid". I think they are just more aware of their sounds lol.

dd did a fake cough thing for awhile. I thought she was getting sick but i think it was just like u said a new found sound that they can make. She would look right at me then cough and smile.

Re: ear infection, food allergy or faker faker belly acher lol
I asked ped about this, he said its not uncommon for babies to fake coughs. Its kind of a way of expression, he recommended not paying any attention to it, but after a few min give a lot of attention.
Actually, didn't work for me, he instead developed a whole language around coughs, growls, and screams. So I started just to say,"you coughed" every time he did it. Or you "growled", or "you're screaming" .... around 6m, if he did it I say you cough, he'd stop, like "yes mommy, I did" same for screaming, its amazing how well it worked.

My dd is almo year and has been fake coughing forever. She's thinks it's so funny. She makes all sorts of noises with my mouth/throat.
It's par for the course lol. All sorts of noises
