Ear Piercing? Did you do it for DD?

I'm torn. I want to do it at her next visit with the pediatrician.

How old was DD when you pierced her ears and how was the reaction?

with #1 we waited until she was 6 we made it a mother and daughter day and I plan on doing that with my 2 other girls

12 weeks at the ped office. She cried for about 3 minutes afterwards and has never fussed with them.

2 months old at Claire's.... They have a sterile gun - one person gets to use the gun, and then it gets dispensed - doesn't even get cleaned to be reused which I was happy about.

She cried for about a minute and that was it all done.... She never fussed w/ them b/c she didn't know from her ears at all.

I'm so glad I did it this way, and if I ever am blessed again... I will do it the same way.

I did it at the pediatricians at 4 months, she didn't cry. I don't even think she knows they are there. She's 19 months now, i've never had a problem with them, she's never tried to touch them.

i waited with DD until she could decide for herself if she wanted her ears peirced. I think she was 4 or 5.
If i have another girl, ill just do it when she is little- its easier.

I had my dd's ears pierced when she was 6 months. The reaction was really not that bad. She only cried for a second afterwards and then she was fine. I was torn before I did it too, but now i'm happy I did. She looks adorable!!

my ped did it for my dd when she was 2 months. she got a bad infection from it. then we tried it again at 7 months. she got another infection. shes 5 now. she can get them pierced whens she alot older.

3 months at piercing pargonda i nthe mall... never bothered with them!

how does the ped do it? do u have to bring earrings with u? i got mine done when i was older at a jeweler so i didnt even know u could get it done at the ped office!

She was 8 months and she cried for about 2 minutes at the ped's office.

6 months old. She never touches them (she's 9 months old now). I love them. She cried for maybe a minute after.

I got them done at Contempo in West Hempstead. My Ped recommended them.

I waited until DD was 5 to do it. I think I'm taking my 3 year old next week.

DD was 3 months old. We also used Contemp as our Dr. recommended them.

by the time we had her back in the car she was not crying anymore. it lasted for not even 5 minutes. i was more upset then her!!

I plan to wait until she is older and make a Mommy/Daughter day out of it too!

I got DDs done when she was 8 months old. My ped does not do it, so we went to Piercing Pagoda in the mall and they were WONDERFUL with her. They did 1 ear at a time, she sat on my lap. She did not cry until after it was done and has never had a problem with them.

I think I will wait until DD is 2 or 3 to do this.
