Ear piercing question - if your DD has her ears pierced please read.
Im getting Paige's ears pierced next week. Obviously, its gonna hurt for a few seconds, but how did your DD do after. Did they bother her and when you had to clean them.Did she fussy and cry about it?

Nope, it was like they weren't there, Julia didn't fuss or play with them at all, I used a q-tip to clean them, and it didn't bother her one bit!
She was 3 month when we got them pierced.

Same for us, and she only cried for a second, I had a bottle ready for her..

I was going to write a similar post today to ask how to get over the guilt of knowing that you are going to hurt your child unnecessarily. My DD is 7.5 months and I want to get her ears pierced but I too feel so bad about it. I am glad to hear that many DD's didn't cry for long.

Never had any problems. She cried for about 2 seconds when they got done, and she ate a bottle and played with a toy to distract her while they did it.

My ped doesn't do piercing, so we went to our jeweler...he used numbing cream so it didn't hurt, but the noise startled her and she cried for a second.
She doesn't even know they are there.

I really wanted to do it and chickened out about 4 times. Now it might be too late because she discovered her ears and plays with them all the time!
So many people do it and their babies cry for a minute and get over it quickly. Good luck!

I got Kaitee's ears periced the same day she got her 2 month shots. She was tired so she was fussy before she got periced. But she only cried for about 30 seconds. That night she didn't sleep well and had a low fever but I blame it on her shots since that happens everytime she gets her shots.

by the time we were back in the car she was laughing. it was so sad and i felt horrible during it but she was fine a few minutes later. she does not even know they are in so she does not touch them (def. a plus at getting them done at a young age). Ped said i can do it at 3 months - so we did it on that day.

I had Marron's done when she was 4.5 months old. She cried for about a minute and then it was done. She never even knew they were there. I put the cleaning solution into a small spray bottle and used that to clean them. I found that easier than using a Q-tip or cotton ball. I just sprayed her lobe til it was wet then turned the posts. Never had a problem.

DD was totally fine after. She cried for like 5 seconds but I brought a bottle with me and gave it to her right after and she stopped crying and went to sleep. She didn't seem bothered by them afterwards at all, and she let me clean them without fussing.
