Ear Thermometer
Do you need one?
What type of thermometer did you get for your infant?

I'm not totally comfortable with the rectal thermometer.... The Ear Thermometer that I have is made by Braun. It's pretty accurate.

Since I was told and found firsthand the ear thermometer was inaccurate for infants (ear canal was too small), I opted for a slew of others. Pacifier thermometer, thermometer stickers & rectal thermometer. When Maddie was hospitalized at a week old for suspected menegitis, my pediatrician wanted me to take rectal only because it's the most accurate.

My ped told me to stick with rectal too. I would definitely prefer to use the ear, but I keep hearing how inaccurate it is....

I registered for and received an ear thermometer, but the few times I actually needed an accurate temp I used the rectal anyway. Mine has a little band that you know how far to go so you cannot hurt the baby.
Not sure how I would get an almost 2 year old to sit still for a rectal now though...
