Re: Early Christmas
it's like this everyyear Thanksgiven is just something you do between halloween and Christmas. I guess alot of people start there christmas shopping early so the stores try to get it going asap i know before halloween walmart already started getting there christmas stuff on the shelves.

Re: Early Christmas
I'm right there with you !!! I feel like it's getting earlier & earlier every year.
I went to buy stuff for Halloween a few weeks ago.....and the Halloween stuff was already in the clearance aisle & Christmas trees were up and taking it's place !!
A week before Halloween !! COME ON NOW ?!?!

Re: Early Christmas
I agree that Thanksgiving definitely gets more and more overlooked as the years go by. But I also must admit that Im a huge fan of Christmas so all the early Christmas decorations and music doesn't bother me as much as it probably should.

Re: Early Christmas
Yes - it bothers me! I went to Rite Aid last night and all the Halloween stuff was on clearance on one table and the rest of the aisles were full of Christmas stuff - I hate it!!!!!!!!

Re: Early Christmas
This year many retail stores are stepping up the holiday shopping earlier...lots of stores are bumping up the Black Fridays sales in the next few weeks.
I was in Lowes last weekend and heard holiday music.

Re: Early Christmas
People say this every year--lol I don't think its going to change! It will probably only get worse, I guess it takes a lot to set up the stores and they want everything done before the holidays even start.
It doesn't bother me at all, the decorations are so beautiful and make the stores look so pretty!

Re: Early Christmas
It's nice to see I'm not the only one !!
I agree it's going to get worse because sadly it's all about money....these stores push the commercialism of Christmas and try to make it all about presents

Re: Early Christmas
Yeah its quie early still. Retail tries to kick in the holiday season earlier and earlier every year! Soon they'll be Christmas carols during Labor Day!

Re: Early Christmas
My wedding anniversary was in early October. I went to Sears to get DH something and they already had x-mas merchandise out for sale - it was September!!!!!
I HATE having x-mas shoved down my throat! And what about all the people that live in this country that don't even celebrate x-mas?? Think about how they feel being bombarded with this "holiday" message for a holiday they don't participate in. Totally pi$$es me off to start x-mas nonsense before the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade officially intros Santa!!!
