Early Disney planning-Best places to stay for family of 5?
On Disney or off and why.
I'm mostly worried about room sizes with us and 3 kids. My kids will be 5 and 3 yr old twins at the time.
What we 'want' is really just a nice outdoor area/nice pools suitable for kids and comfortable dining.
So I know its a very general question but looking for a starting place...
TIA!!!!

We always stay off property. You can rent a 3-4 bedroom house for less then 700 dollars a week. Cheaper then most hotels. And most of them have their own pool. Town homes are also good an cheaper the houses. We are going down in November and plan on staying at a town home that is 10 minutes from disney. We drive down there so transportation isn't a problem. It saves a ton of money on food. We eat breakfast at the house before we leave and pack lunch for the parks.. We use vacationhomes.com and homeaway.com...

When are you going? There is a new value resort opening next year that will have a ton of family suites. Good price, value but more room and I believe they have kitchenettes. I think they are going to be similar to the family suites that are at the All Stars now. The hotel is themed with Finding Nemo, Lion King, Etc.

Ooh really? That sounds wonderful..is there anywhere that I can read up more on this..def interested...
OP - there is nothing like staying on property IMO... The values are a pretty good deal...cheaper than you would think...and the transportation was great! Good luck!

Google "art of animation resort" or look at www.allears.net. The project is slated to open in May 2012.

It is called Art of Animation - and is supposed to open late spring/summer 2012.

Also look on Disboards.com - I'm sure there are threads over there about it as well.
