Early Morning Waking (Toddler)
Kevin is a good sleeper but for the past (almost) two weeks he's been waking up anywhere between 5:15 AM - 7:30 AM. He HAD been waking up between 7 - 8:30 AM.
He goes to bed by 8 PM and takes one nap anywhere between 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hrs per day.
He does have a cold and the early waking did start right before he got the cold.
Do you think he's ready to give up his nap (Please. please, please don't let it be this!) or maybe its just the stuffy nose that is waking him up?
I've got to get this resolved before daylight savings time becasue if he starts getting up at 4 in the morning I'm gonna shoot myself!

Re: Early Morning Waking (Toddler)
Hi...Bella has been doing this a lot lately, she is consistently waking at 5:30-6 am lately. But I have really been consistent with just going in there and saying, it's too early Bella, I love you, I will see you soon. Give her the covers and her monkey and lay her back down. She does not come out of bed until 6:30 am. Today she went back until 7:10!
I think a lot of Bella's issues are teething. ETA: I haven't been on all day and this is the first I am seeing this

Re: Early Morning Waking (Toddler)
I have an early riser too...Lately she has not slept past 6:30.... a few days last week she woke up before 6... She used to wake up between 6:30 and 7 which was fine... Me going in and telling her it's too early does not work so I just have to deal with it... I find that putting her to bed later doesn't make a difference either... Wish I could help!

Re: Early Morning Waking (Toddler)
Ugg! He was up at 5:11 AM today. He was running around all day yesterday and hardly took a nap. I was sure he'd sleep later but no deal.

Re: Early Morning Waking (Toddler)
We have some days like this, it might happen to us for a week, and then he goes back to his normal sleeping pattern.
Its just a phase!!!

Re: Early Morning Waking (Toddler)
I'd say a phase or the cold. My Kevin is also now a decent sleeper (8/8:30ish, bed 930ish, 2 hour naps) and has been getting up 7/7:30 or earlier and napping poorly for the past 2 weeks, he also has a cold and cutting 3 teeth and a new baby in the house. Don't give up the nap yet - ride it out and see where it leads - I know I have been there before and he always goes back to normal.

Re: Early Morning Waking (Toddler)
Ava started doing this with her ear infection and teething. She normally wakes 7:30-8am, and had started to get up around 5:30-6am for about two weeks. If she got up before 6am, I left her in her crib until 6. She stopped doing it this past week and went back to sleeping until 8-ish again. He's probably just uncomfortable from his cold
