early on.... anyone feel out of breath?

this just started last night. granted, I also have some congestion in my sinuses.... But I really feel like the congestion is making me feel a bit light headed / dizzy and out of breath.

It actually woke me up at 630AM today. I had to blow my nose and then sit up for a couple hour while my sinuses drained. I had to breathe very deeply. very uncomfy.

I'm in my first month of pregnancy....
did this happen to any of you? Chat Icon

Yes in a way. They say that having to blow your nose is another symptom of pregnancy because your membrane softens. I've been blowing mine every morning.

I don't know if this is what you meant, but i get out of breath a little when i climb the stairs.

Re: early on.... anyone feel out of breath?

I was in bed sleeping.... and this breathlessness sensation eventually woke me.

it's like my airways (by the sinuses) are partially blocked. It feels better when I lean forward for a while (letting the 'stuff' gather in my nose... sorry, TMI)

normally, this minor degree of congestion wouldn't affect me much at all.

Maybe I just feel dizzy, and I'm blaming it on the congestion?

Re: early on.... anyone feel out of breath?

I started feeling shortness of breath in my second month and I still get it once in awhile in my 3rd month. It only happens when I'm talking a lot or reading a story aloud to the students. It made me nervous at first but then I read that it can happen to some women.

This is a little off topic... but I was completely congested throughout my entire PG....

So didn't help with the breathing - especially when she started pushing up on my lungs.....

Re: early on.... anyone feel out of breath?

I can totally understand it in the last trimester..... the baby is pressing on vessels and crowding the lungs and other organs together... but I just got my BFP! I also wasn't walking / exercising, or talking a lot.

Right now, the congestion has cleared, and I can breathe somewhat normally again.

If this happens again, I think I'm going to call my obstatrician Chat Icon

thanks everyone!

yes. I have asthma and haven't needed my inhaler in 2 years. Suddenly the past week or so, I am having trouble walking up the stairs without getting winded!

I had this so bad in my 1st trimester. My Dr. said it could be from my anemia.

hmmmm, I'm seldom technically diagonsed as 'anemic', but I'm frequently right above the cut-off with my RBC count.... I think you're onto something.....

well, after this morning and early afternoon, my sinuses dried up and I felt fine. so darned strange!

thanks everyone

I had that early in my pregnancy. I couldn't even go up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath. It did go away, I'm just not sure when.

Yes, totally normal. For me, I noticed I was running out of breathe right before I got my BFP so it can happy very early on.

Unfortunately, from what I hear it gets worse Chat Icon
