Early wakings.....
So Matthew is now waking up at 5am every morning now. I dont know what it is. I tried putting him down later and it still doesnt work...he is usuaully in bed at 6:30-7pm. Last night we went to bed at 7:45, because we went to party and I got home later. I tried giving him a bottle and he gioes back to bed for 10 minutes and then gets up again playing in his crib for about 20 minutes, and stands up and taps the side of the crib. I dont knwo what else to do

Re: Early wakings.....
I hear ya! Same situation here. Sounds like Steven and Mathew were cut from the same mold. No matter what time he goes down he's up between 5 and 5:30.
THEN, DH has the nerve to say "I haven't slept in for a really long time." Um, hellooooo...8:30 IS sleeping in. Heck, 7:00 is sleeping in.
Sorry for hijacking. Don't have advice, because I'm in the same boat

Re: Early wakings.....
Diane,
Send him to my house. That seems to be when I wake up nowadays too. We can keep each other occupied and Mommy can get caught up on her rest

Re: Early wakings.....
I've noticed the later DS goes to bed, the earlier he wakes up, or at least wakes up the same time every morning. It has to do with being over tired.
Its frustrating, I go through it sometimes too! This morning guess who was up at 5am as well? Yup.

Re: Early wakings.....
I think they all go through this at some point. Just keep his schedule consistent and don't put him to bed later thinking he will sleep in, it works the opposite. Molly did this for about two weeks and luckily I would just turn her music on and scoot her back in the crib and she would go back to sleep. I struggled with this with Jack for months. He was up and ready to go at 5am. He was miserably over tired and I was at my wits end. Then one day it just stopped.
Wish I had some advice...but time will change it.

I agree with this. I also don't run in there with the 1st noise I hear. He'll talk in his crib and sometimes put himself back out for a few more hours. I only go in to get him when he's actually crying, not talking or cooing.
I also found that putting more than 1 binky in the crib was a Godsend. It totally eliminated me having to ever get up to pop it back in. HTH

Re: Early wakings.....
I have the same thing with both kids. My dd can go to bed at midnight and she will still be up at 6am. She has gotten better over the years but my son now does not sleep any later than 6:30am. I hate when people complain that they can't get their kids out of bed. Mine won't stay asleep long enough and they start fighting at 6am everyday!!

Re: Early wakings.....
The same thing happens with my DD. She goes down at 6:00-6:30 and is up at 5:00. I've tried keeping her up later and it doesn't make a difference. I am with ya on not knowing what to do. It's not even like it's the light waking them up...it's still dark!!! If you figure anything out, let me know b/c you can add me to the "I want to sleep in" list!

Same with Hannah, put that with no naps and I'm exhausted
Sorry Diane
