East Coast Destinations - luxury resorts?
Can anyone recommend a good beachfront resort along the east coast that is driving distance?
DH and I are taking a little trip the very last week of April for a mini baby moon. Originally we were going to fly to Anguilla but unfortunately I was advised not to fly by my doctor. So we are now trying to find somewhere to go that will at least have warm enough weather to sit and relax on the beach. Which pretty much rules out Cape Cod or anything north considering the time we plan to go. I haven't done much travelling anywhere between New York and Florida so If you could recommend a nice place, I'd appreciate it.
Here is what I am looking for:
Driving distance - ideally no longer than 5-6 hours by car (I'll be 8 months by then)
Warm weather (75 and up) by end of April
Luxury resort on the beach
A spa and golf on sight are a bonus
Good restaurants
Price isn't much of an issue since we are not booking any flights.
TIA for your thoughts

6 hours puts you in NC (assuming you are not all the way out east on LI)... I don't know that you're going to get 75 degrees at the end of April, honestly. I'd focus more on the spa and golf part, less on the beach, because if you do something like Ocean City MD or somewhere in the north of NC, you might be able to find a nice resort there
