East Coast Fertility - Dr. Kreiner??

My OB is recommending Dr. Kreiner at East Coast Fertility. I've done a few searches on here and I've read mixed "reviews". Can you ladies shed some light on your experiences with Dr. Kreiner and ECF?

I'm also curious if anyone has seen any other doctor at ECF. ECF apparently takes my insurance which I found out will cover a portion of IVF only with a dr. in-network.

Any feedback would be helpful. Also, how long in general does it take to get an appointment at any RE - like do you need to call a month in advance?

I don't see Kreiner, but I have seen Pena. After the consult, you really don't see them often. All the monitoring is done by nurses for the most part.
The practice is okay, but it is always packed. For the daily monitoring you will be waiting for some time.
As for getting the consult appointment, I think I got in pretty quickly. Just be flexible with the time.

Thanks! So the daily monitoring is a long wait? How early can you get there? I'm curious what time I can go in and then get to work in the city on 2 days a week...

I saw Dr,. Kreiner, and Dr. Pena, and my favorite was Dr. Halfen, but he moved to Miami.
I had a great experience there, except their billing department.

All the nurses are great and have 9 month old twin boys.
I went to the Setuaket locatuion for monitoring and never waited any more than 10 -15 minutes.
The Plainview location is always packed.

If I were you I wouldn't waste my time with him, I did and I wish dearly that I hadn't. Just my opinion

They open their doors at 7am, BUT literally you've got to be there by 6am and wait in the parking lot if you want to be one of the first 3 people. It's incredibly frustrating. I thought this was all RE's, but noboby else seems to have problems like this. I was there at 6:09 am this past Mon. for b/w and was the 5th vehicle. There is only 1 sometimes 2 people that take blood, so it gets backed up, and forget about sono's.....The last IUI I had, we were there over 2 hours.
It must be good if so many people go there, but for me it's just that there aren't really any other locations I can go to. So I'm locked in.

I am a patient of Dr Kreiner. I have mixed feelings, good and a little bad, which I can share via FM if you like. I can say that only the Plainview office, in my experience, is terriby crowded. I go to Mt Sinai and Im in and out. FM me if you want to ask any questions. Good luck!

Chat Icon Chat Icon HOLY CRAP!! I mean, I understand that it's a good sign that a lot of people go there, but WOW! That's discouraging to me...

Re: East Coast Fertility - Dr. Kreiner??

I used dr.kreiner for my first ivf and got pg and had ababy girl, she is now 19 months...the staff was horrible..I cried everyday..I was under so much stress from it I thought it wasn't going to work, but it did.Iwent back to him again, and he totally screwed me..I when through 2 ivf cycles with him..They didn't work..he should have cancelled before the retrieval, but he didn't..he just wanted the money..there was no sympathy to me or my feelings. You would think that I was a returning client..They would treat me with a little more respect this time..I got fed up with the insurance people, the staff, and his wacyness and left.now going to a new dr..they are treating me alot better like I am a real person..I wish you the best of luck..hang in there and be strong, and don't be afraid to speak your mind...

I cant recommend them either. They were a waste of time for me and actually missed my O one month and tried to "catch it" the next day. Then the dr took 2 days to call me back.

I want to thank all of you for being so honest. This does not sound like a practice I would want or have patience for, even though I already "know" why I need IVF. Thanks again! Chat Icon

Re: East Coast Fertility - Dr. Kreiner??

I said this in another post - I think the most important thing during this process is to feel totally comfortable with your Dr.. He/She is going to be guiding you through a very difficult process and you should be totally happy with him/her.
