East Islip
I am not familiar with this area. Can you please tell me a bit about it? Thanks!

Re: East Islip
It's a nice town with good schools. That's what I have heard from people who live there (family-friends)

Re: East Islip
I believe E.Islip has a hard time passing the school budget - when I was looking, the budget failed, and I dont think it passed the second time.

They're both about the same, but I would lean towards West Islip. Then again, I'm biased, I grew up in WI.

Ditto and I live in West Islip now, and the budget usually always passes.

Re: East Islip
They are both great towns, but Meghan is right about the budget not passing. And they don't have full day kindergarten, no sure if that matters to you! But both beautiful towns!

Re: East Islip
Actually E Islip does have full day kindergarten, I have a co-worker whose daughter currently attends. I believe that when the budget failed they threatened to revoke full day, but at the ninth hour, the program was restored. Most of these districts are just blowing smoke when they threaten this because the costs involved in instituting the program and then changing back to half day are ridiculous (at least that's what my teacher friends tell me). Regardless, I believe in 2010 full day K is state mandated.
