I like both but they are two very different days.
For me Cow Harbor Day has the history behind it. Taking the boat over to see the dinghy races, walking around, seeing our neighbors compete in the Race, etc. With the exception of the parade, there is not as many kid-oriented things (face painting?).
Now that I live local, the East Northport Festival is more fun for kids. It's not nearly as big so you're more likely to run into neighbors & your kid's classmates. It has rides so I think it's more for the kids.

ITA. I remember doing the race a few years ago. That's really more for adults and much older kids seeing their dad/mom running.

i enjoy both for the same reasons as the top poster.. They both run the chance of seeing past classmates if you know what I mean not too crazy about that but I get to show off Brianna

Cow Harbor Day is only the one day but the East Northport Festival runs for 2 or 3 days. You could do both.

I LOVE both! Last year was the first time I went to the East Northport Festival (and I grew up here too..) I was always a Cow Harbor Day person.
I marched in ALL the parades (Cow Harbor Day) From being in a Brownie Troop up until marching with my nephews Pre-K last year.
The East Northport Festival I agree I think is more for kids. They have the rides, pony rides, and I believe there were booths too for games.
A little off topic, but, Im also a Greenport person and I LOVE the Maritime Festival as well. Yes, these next 3 weekends will be quite fun.

The E. Northport Festival I believe starts tonight and runs through Sunday.
The rides/games, etc. are all set up behind the library (on Larkfield) on the baseball fields.
I believe they close Larkfield Rd down to the RR Tracks (from Pulaski), If I remember correctly.
