Easter candy and June christening (calling candy buffet pros)

DD's christening is June 12th. I want to do a candy table. I was thinking of buying some Easter candy on sale. Do you think it would be okay in June? I know chocolate might be tough, but the gummy stuff should be okay, right?

With Easter being the end of April, you'd really be getting the candy about 6 weeks before the party. I think that should be fine.

Definitely! Even chocolate would be fine then too as long as it's kept at normal room temp!

Totally fine. Check the dates on the packages, but they're probably good for at least 6 months. I actually found a lot of candy after Easter last year that was good until 2013 that I actually used some for Halloween! Chat Icon I just love the colors of Easter candy. Two years ago, I used some at my wedding in July (just for decoration, but it was because the lavender and mint colors worked with my wedding colors).

GO to Dollar Tree. They are selling the big swirly lollipops for 1.oo each! They are so pretty. Also, they are selling marshmallow ropes. 10 in a bag (individually wrapped). Both items are PERFECT for a candy table.

I started buying candy for my son's March party back in December when the holiday clearance started. Like other people said...as long as you watch for expiration dates and store in a cool location it should be fine.

I'm planning to do this too or DD's 1st bday in June. I already scoped out Target to see what I can get on clearance after the fact, lol.
Are you going to stay away from things that are Easter themed? Do you think people will care about eating 'old' candy even though it's fresh? I know I wouldn't, just wondering what others think.
