Re: Easy baked mac n cheese recipe

Fanny Farmer recipie is AWSOME (use a really good sharp cheddar)

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 cup cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 to taste fresh ground black pepper
2 cups cheddar cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Cook and drain macaroni according to package directions; set aside.

In a large saucepan melt butter.

Add flour mixed with salt and pepper, using a whisk to stir until well blended.

Pour milk and cream in gradually; stirring constantly.
Bring to boiling point and boil 2 minutes (stirring constantly).

Reduce heat and cook (stirring constantly) 10 minutes.

Add shredded cheddar little by little and simmer an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese melts.

Turn off flame.

Add macaroni to the saucepan and toss to coat with the cheese sauce.

Transfer macaroni to a buttered baking dish.

Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Bake 20 minutes until the top is golden brown.

(You can also freeze this recipe in zip-lock bags for later use - once you have mixed the macaroni along with the cheese sauce allow to cool to room temperature before adding to your freezer - I generally pull it out the night before and allow macaroni and cheese to reach room temperature; I then add the macaroni and cheese to a buttered baking dish, sprinkle with bread crumbs and then bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until golden

Re: Easy baked mac n cheese recipe

Chuck's Favorite Mac n Cheese - so gooood.

***I pulsed the cottage cheese in the magic bullet first. Got the recipe and idea for smoothing the cottage cheese from someone on here - I believe it was melbalala.

1 (8 ounce) package elbow macaroni
1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 (12 ounce) container small curd cottage cheese
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup butter, melted

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil, add pasta, and cook until done; drain.
2.In 9x13 inch baking dish, stir together macaroni, shredded Cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. In a small bowl, mix together bread crumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle topping over macaroni mixture.
3.Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until top is golden.

Re: Easy baked mac n cheese recipe

This is my grandmother's mac and cheese recipe. Everyone loves it!

2 cans of Campbell's tomato soup
2 cans of 2% milk (use tomato soup can to measure)
1 box of Rigatoni noodles (Ronzoni tastes best)
1 lb of extra sharp cheddar cheese grated

Boil water and cook pasta. In seperate pot mix 2 cans of Campbell's tomato soup with 2 cans of 2% milk. Make cream of tomato soup. When soup is done, combine soup, drained noodles and 1 lb of extra sharp cheese that has been grated, and mix together in large casserole pan. Cover with tin foil and bake on 350 for about 25 minutes.

When done, take out of over, mix one more time and serve.

eta: This mac and cheese recipe is a meal in itself, we don't eat anything with it. It is liquidy, not clumpy like kraft mac and cheese.
