Re: Easy dinner ideas for ds

My dd LOVES any kind of pasta with garlic and olive oil on it sprinkled with grated cheese. It's really easy to do.
in a small frying pan, put in cold extra virgin olive oil, slice up some fresh garlic then put it on low, cook until the garlic is soft, don't brown it-the browner garlic is the more bitter it gets.
You can then either take the garlic out of the oil or mix it up with the pasta.
Save a little pasta water, mix the oil with the pasta, throw one small scoop of pasta water and mix. YUM!
You can then add anything to it-broccoli, peas, herbs(fresh basil), any kind of veggie.

Also i add come red pepper flakes and rosemary to the oil.

Another easy thing is with ricotta and grated cheese

fresh mac n cheese with any kind of veggie.

DC like hummus? My DD's loves hummus with sliced cheese, and grape tomatoes cut in 1/2, with some pita bread or crackers.

Pasta Fagioli-pasta with beans. Easy way, elbow mac, big can of veg. baked beans, throw the beans into a saucepan, put in garlic powder so it's garlicky, heat up, throw right over 1/2 pound of any mac-tubetini, cut up spaghetti, elbows.

I have more...

Fresh baked chick tenders-slice up chicken into slices, coat them in egg then in breadcrumbs. Put them on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray, spray chicken on top with spray into a preheated 425 degree oven for about 20 mins. They are crunchy and delish and taste like fried.

Re: Easy dinner ideas for ds

What about a quick soup? It's an easy way to get everything in. I just get a small can of chicken stock and add in a diced carrot & diced small potato. I cube the already made tyson chicken strips right in there. Oops I forgot I also add about a 1/4 cup of elbow noodles. 10-15 minutes and the veggies are soft & it's ready to go.

Re: Easy dinner ideas for ds

Oh and i have more easy recipes.

Meatballs meatloaf-any kind of ground meat, but you can use the meatball/meatloaf mix they have at the store.
1lb of meat
1 envelope of lipton beef onion soup mix
1 egg
unflavored breadcrumbs or Rolled oats
Ketchup

Mix the meat with the egg, onion mix and oats or breadcrumbs and some ketchup, make a football shape (meat should be sticky and stick together), put in sprayed dish, spread more ketchup on top, in a 350 preheated oven for 1 hour. DD loves it so does DH.

You can put shredded cheese mixed in, or hardboiled egg in the middle too.

Shake n bake is a wonderful thing when you want something fast.

Or sometimes when i'm not in the mood to cook, i just saute some cut up chicken in olive oil and Mrs. Dash garlic and herb seasoning, throw it into some pasta roni or zatarans rice and it's dinner.

Do you want anything specific, like specific ingredients? I prob have somethingChat Icon Chat Icon

Oh god i'd be shot if my family found out i used this stuff...

But it's in the section you get breadcrumbs and stuffing.

You put raw chicken/pork into a bag with the seasoning, shake it up and bake it. Its a coating, they have all types flavors, I only use the BBQ glaze one.

Yes, it's super easy to do, no egg/milk washes, just shake the stuff on, throw into a pan and cook it.

I like the BBQ cause the rub turns into a glaze and when you cook chicken with reg bbq sauce, the water from the chicken dilutes the bbq sauce and it doesn't stick on like shake and bake BBQ. I don't use it that much, but it comes in hand in the winter when you can't throw chick on the bbq outside and put bbq sauce on it there.

I didn't read what the posters wrote above but this is what I've given Jack so far:

I make my meatballs - but in mini's. THey are delicious (if I do say so myself) and could possibly be the easiest things to make ever. I can email you the recipe if you want.

I made Kraft Mac and Cheese. Mixed it with some pureed butternut squash - and threw some green beans in there.

Chicken and Stars Campbells soup.

Turkey and cheese in pieces.

Mashed potatoes with some butter.

Pancakes (although he has yet to really like them - so I eat them)

English Muffin with cream cheese

I am going to try soon:
Ravioli's
Grilled Cheese
Chicken
Waffles

How is Justin feeling? Chat Icon

Some ideas:
-Anything we are eating from the crockpot - I'll send you the website if you want
-Tomato soup and grilled cheese
-Ravioli or pasta & meatballs
-Mac & Cheese with squash & a meat on the side
-They love ham - so I do ham, and maybe a rice with a veggie in it
-Any kind of rice with veggies in it (different ones - they'll eat them if they're really small)
-"Breakfast" - eggs and toast with cream cheese; or an omelet
-Turkey meatballs, turkey meatloaf or turkey burgers
-Couscous - it makes one he!! of a mess but they love it
-Pierogies
-Pork chops with carrots and string beans in tomato sauce (stove top or crockpot)
-Atkins cauliflower - cauliflower and milk in the food processor for about a minute - looks like mashed potatoes
-Sweet potato fries, or sweet potatoes mashed up
-They love peas and corn, so in a pinch I keep frozen ones and they have either of those as their veggie
-Soup
-Pizza English Muffins
-Tuna fish on crackers
-Pasta with bits of veggies in it - that's an easy one

That's all I can think of, hope he likes his new menu choices. Chat Icon
