Easy food ideas for 10 month old
I returned all the Stage 3 dinners to the store since DS really did not take to them and I can understand why. I really need to transition him to table food and have been slowly doing that. The thing is that he does not seem to like a lot (probably because it's new) and I'm not sure what I can make that is "safe" for him to eat and easy to make - I work so I need ideas meals that I can prepare ahead of time so whomever is watching him can just heat it up and/or just serve. Any breakfast, lunch or dinner ideas are greatly appreciated! I have a food blender that I've been using to make smaller pieces for him to eat. He is 10 1/2 months old.
I know pastina is good, but I guess kind of bland to him on its own.
Thank you!!

Some other mommies suggested Dr. Preagers products which my DS likes. I also made a batch of turkey, feta and spinach meatballs which I cooked and then froze. I did the same with beef, petite diced tomatoes and cheddar cheese. (I got the idea from someone else's previous post.) I've also been giving DS cold cuts, trader joe's microwaveable mac and cheese.

Thanks so much. I did not even realize TJ's had mac & cheese, maybe he'd like that.

Re: Easy food ideas for 10 month old
Raviolli are easy to chew - especaially the baby food ones - not sure if they are beech nut or gerber and other pasta - barilla makes mini shapes but they are white pasta not whole grain.
breakfast food - french toast, pancakes, waffles, egg are a good start also
then peas, potatoes, fries

Thanks - I tried the pancakes last weekend and he loved them! Lately he just won't try anything and I'm wasting so much food!

Feed DC before you feed yourself - this way you can have leftovers - or you now have lunch for youself for tomorrow.
there was a post about 13 month old food earlier today you might want to bookmark.

Thanks - I'm getting so frustrated since he barely will try anything. I almost just lost it. He finally is eating the pastina I made with his dinner. Uggghhh....Thanks, I will search for that post.

Re: Easy food ideas for 10 month old
My DS was almost 1 year before he started table food (it was me - afraid he'd choke) - but he started slow.
Its an odd thing to chew food - it takes time - try to be patient - maybe have a cup of tea (or shot of vodka) before feeding dc.

Hi
We give him yogurt, whole wheat toast, the yolk of an hard boiled egg, spaghetti, turkey, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and vegatable that is soft.
I pretty much give him almost anything that is soft or small.

how many teeth does he have?
With Jacen, i've had to try things about 3 times before he'll willingly eat them.
Breakfast- french toast sticks or muffin tops from Eggo i think it is. Eggs. Yobaby. Oatmeal. toast with jelly.
Lunch- ds eats any kind of deli meat. cheese. peas. string beans. blueberries. bananas. veggie burgers with cheese. grilled cheese. pizza. chicken fingers. corn. Marinated chicken. Meatballs.
Dinner- same as lunch really.
He'll eat anything but pasta.
But he pretty much will eat anything we eat otherwise. 2 weeks ago he hated peas. Now he loves them. I think he also hated when we would try to feed him. He wants to feed himself only now.

Re: Easy food ideas for 10 month old
My DD is 9 months old and she does eat table food but not a lot, just a few bites, so I don't really make a lot of food just for her. Sort of a waste IMO. I just feed her bits and pieces of whatever meal we're eating as long as it's healthy. So she's been eating mashed potatoes, grilled chicken pieces, pasta, cheese, pancakes, scrambled eggs, soft vegetables, fresh fruits mashed up with a fork, bread, yogurt, turkey, etc. I am just trying to get her use to the things we eat normally because I don't want to have to always be making separate things just for her. I'm lucky, so far she likes everything. She's not picky at all.

Re: Easy food ideas for 10 month old
My DD is 10 months also
- whole wheat waffles - scrambled egg - turkey sausage - gerber meat sticks -sweet potato fries ( mccains in the frozen section) - meatball - lightly breaded chicken nuggets ( i buy the dino nuggets at BJ's) - I bake a piece of chicken with some olive oil drizzled on top and cut that up. Sometimes I dip it in bbq sauce, she loves that - whole grain toast with a little jelly - grilled cheese
- cut up grapes - cut up blueberries - cup up watermelon - cut up banana
- frozen peas & corn (i dont cut those) - frozen carrots (i cut those)
the frozen veggies are so easy b/c I just throw them right in the micro
If I can mash it between my thumb and forefinger, then she can eat it. She only has 2 teeth.
The only thing the ped said she couldnt have was shellfish, peanuts and raw honey.

Thanks - you don't have an issue with the peas and corn? I don't know why, but the shell or covering scares me. Thanks for all the ideas, I will be stealing some!

Re: Easy food ideas for 10 month old
My DS had more teeth when he started eating solid food - I'm not really sure.
I don't think corn or peas would be much of a problem.
If you are worried - take a CPR class - that's what we/I did.

I have desperately been trying to find one, but I always seem to miss them at Good Sam and the next one is always months after.
