eating only partially organic

Is there an advantage to eating a small amount of organic food if your diet is mainly non-organic? (or, are any benefits, should they exist, overshadowed by the primarily non-organic diet)

DH and I don't seek out or eat organic except for the occasional trader joes item that happens to be organic.

this month we bought organic cage-free brown eggs, rather than our usual non-organic white. I'm also considering switching to organic milk...

is there any advantage or is it not really worth making the change? Chat Icon

If it's still worth it, are there any particular items especially worth eating organic if you eat a primarily non-organic diet?

Re: eating only partially organic

personally I think any small change in your diet for the better is better than nothing at all.

I like organic poultry, eggs and fruits and veggies that I eat the skin.

eta: I can't always afford it but I try to buy as much organic as I can. More than 50% of what I eat is not organic though.

Agreed. We don't buy organic everything, but I figure some is better than none.

Don't limit yourself only to organic vs non-organic. There are other food choices that IMO are just as important, like buying local produce/meat, and cage free eggs (as opposed to just organic eggs, which may or may not come from cage free chickens).

Anyway, if you're going the partially organic route, here are some ways to get started:

Top foods you should eat organic

I agree! Buying local is sooo important. I started eating organic just with fruit.
