Ebay Dilemna
Sorry to be such a PITA. I auctioned off a Southwest Airline Credit for 240. Someone bought it and paid already. Then set me an email with the flight times and passengers names. I told them they needed to make the ressies themselves and use the conf # and my name (which I have not yet sent) and further sent them an email asking if they understood the way the purchase worked. The credit is just like having 240, they need to pay the difference. They have not yet answered me and I am hesitant to send my name and conf # for fear that they will want a refund AND also have acccess to the 240 credit. Should I just refund them or send the info and say tough sh!t
Thanks!

I'd wait for a response back from them. If you don't hear from them in the next few days, I would refund them. Do NOT give them your info because you just never know with people.

Re: Ebay Dilemna
Thanks, that is the point, I made it very clear what the listing was and how it worked. She paid yesterday so do you think I should wait until Friday to refund and relist?

That's what I was wondering. As long as the auction is clear on how it works there should be no problems. If they do come back to you for some reason, you can call the airline and see if the credit was used. If so, they are out of luck. Just keep copies of everything (the listing, etc)0

Re: Ebay Dilemna
They wanted me to make the reservations for them and the ticket total is more than the credit is worth. They paid 228 for a 240 credit, which made me think maybe they didn't really understand how it works.

I agree- they had no idea what they were doing...
How much is the flight that they asked you to book?

Over 400 dollars
This was the listing $240.00 Southwest Airlines Credit
Air travel must be completed by February 1, 2008
You are bidding on a Southwest Credit worth $240.00. This credit can be used toward the purchase of any flight as long as travel is completed by 2/1/08
These Ticketless Travel Funds can be used to fly anywhere that Southwest Airline flies. They can be applied to one flight or to multiple flights. These funds are fully transferable to anyone.
After your payment has been received and cleared, I will send you the confirmation number and credit card holder name which will be required for you to use this credit. Make your reservations on Southwest.com. When the payment screen appears, click "Apply Ticketless Travel Funds." Under the travel funds, enter the confirmation number and the credit holder name. That's all you'll need to do in order to use the credit.
I am not a southwest employee nor am I a travel agent. Payments must be received within 24 hours. Paypal only. There will be no refunds on the purchase. Will not sell outside the United States
Maybe I should have been more specific, I am new at all this

More specific? That was crystal clear to me. Other than saying "I am not the person who will book your flight or pay the difference- YOU ARE", I don't know what else you could have said!

Since you didn't put in your description "all sales are final" I would say yes, just refund them so you can get them out of your hair.

I would wait for their reply to see if they understand more clearly how this works. Maybe even ask them to call you - it might be easier for them to understand it on the phone. If they don't get it, then I would offer a refund.

Re: Ebay Dilemna
Your post did say "no refunds"..
I'd offer a refund MINUS the listing fees- did you have any other bids on the listing though? Did she mess up a potential sale for you?

Re: Ebay Dilemna
Yeah I had 27 bids on it, but I swear why would you bid up to 225 on a 240 credit. Am I missing something???

Personally, I think you are making this into more than it is. You said in the listing that you would send them the information needed once you got payment. That's what you should do. They may have made a mistake by sending you the names, but that doesn't mean you should void the sale. I would do what you said you would do...and BTW - to some people $15 saved is $15 saved.

Re: Ebay Dilemna
send the info and if they want a return do not authorize it. you said NO RETURNS. if they couldn't understand the listing (which seemed clear to me), then it is their loss. it is not your problem. they could have emailed you with questions if they didn't understand the listing, before they bid.

Re: Ebay Dilemna
why can't you just take their credit card information and book the flight for them? this way you don't have to worry about them using the credit and getting a refund.
but i also agree with the above, you should really just give them the credit info and not authorize a refund if they request one.

To save $15? Isn't that the reason someone would buy credits? I don't understand why that's confusing.
Your listing said that as soon as you received payment you'd send the voucher info, so it seems like YOU are the one who isn't holding up your side of the bargain. Send them the info and keep records of everything.

Re: Ebay Dilemna
Thanks for all the opinions ladies, the buyer made an error, she somehow thought it was a rapid rewards certificate. Maybe I am soft, but I refunded her less the lisitng fee ebay charged me, by her name and manner of writing she seemed like an older lady.
I have relisted with even more explicit instructions
