so when you win an auction on Ebay, you wait for the seller to contact you about payment, right???

If they offer Paypal, I usually just pay with Paypal as soon as I win.

I do the same. If the little button for payment comes up I'll immediately pay with PayPal.

I pay via PayPal if I notice that I won before they send me an invoice. but they usually send it before I have the chance

You can wait for them to send you an invoice that way you have a clear picture of final price plus selling cost. They should send the invoice shortly after the end of the auction.
