Ebay Question
Who on LIF has Ebay Stores? Do you think it is worth it to open an Ebay Store, or do you think I should just keep selling items like i have been selling them without a store?
Did you notice a big difference in sales after you opened a store? Was it an increase or decrease in sales?
I am just trying to weigh my options. Thank you, Scott
Items I am currently Selling Tonight I will be listing some New for 2006 Hard Cover books, and also Some Collectible Items from Danielle's Great Uncles house.

Re: Ebay Question
What is the charge for running an E-bay store as opposed to just listing your items?

Re: Ebay Question
Without a store you pay for the listing itself and all fees that come with upgrading your listing, like bold print, and gallery of pictures etc
With a store: click here You have to pay a set Monthly fee plus your listings but your listings are cheaper and you can list items longer.
The thing im concerned about is what happens if I dont have any items listed, I still have to pay the monthly fee.....
Thats why im not sure if this is a good idea or a bad one. I want tog et some advice from people that have ebay store fronts Thanks, Scott

Re: Ebay Question
Thanks for the info. Well - I don't have an Ebay store but it seems to me that it does depend on how much you plan on selling. If this is going to be a constant ongoing thing for you then it seems to make sense. But if your listings will be more sporadic, then it might not be worth the monthly fee.
I would think that I would try selling for a couple of months and see how much you are selling and how much you have to sell before setting up a store. See how it goes, then decide rather than doing a store right away. If you are consistently selling more than the basic monthly free, it's probably worth it for you.
But all of that was probably obvious to you. I hope someone with a store replies that can give you more insight.

Re: Ebay Question
I think this decision should be based on how much you want to commit to listing every month. Do you normally pay $15.95 in just listing fees? The final value fee for the stores is higher so you will want to be sure to get that back too.
Also, unless you have multiples of one item for a listing, I don't think there is a benefit to longer listings. Speaking for myself as both an occasional buyer and seller, longer listings do not equal more business. I usually don't bid on 7 day auctions..I want to know right away if I won..LOL And when selling, I notice activity does not pick up until the last day or day and a half of the listing.

Re: Ebay Question
well do you have to also make your buyers pay tax in NY then if you have a store? then wont you have to tell your accountant and claim it as income??
also the unsertion fees arent that much are they I say stick with selling without a store unless you are going to sell ALOT of stuff
