eBay Question (watching vs bidding)
So I have a bunch of watchers on some of my items... how come these people are not bidding?? And I have noticed, sometimes they don't bid at all.. What's the deal?
I get so psyched that someone is interested and that my item will sell, then nada.
Help me understand the mind of the eBay shopper!

Re: eBay Question (watching vs bidding)
Most people watch and wait until there is like a day left on the auction and then start bidding. At least that's what I do

Re: eBay Question (watching vs bidding)
this is what I have learned about watchers ...
they mean NOTHING!
sometimes sellers of a similar item will watch another auction to see if it sells and for how much. I do it too.

Re: eBay Question (watching vs bidding)
I know I "watch" things to see what the price is like an hour before the auction. Most of the action doesnt start until like minutes before it ends, so there is no point in me posting and driving up the price early.....

Re: eBay Question (watching vs bidding)
Yeah-- I have been excited that I had a ton of watchers on things-- and then come the end of the auction, no one bids! It's so annoying.

Re: eBay Question (watching vs bidding)
sometimes I watch something because its similar to something I want to sell and I want to see how much it goes for.
Sometimes I am interested in more than one item but I can only buy one.
Sometimes I change my mind and forget to unwatch.
Sometimes I watch more than one of the same thing to make sure I bid on the one that is lower in price...etc....

Sometimes people also miss the end of the auction.
