Ectopic PG and Methotrexate experience?

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with methotrexate therapy for ectopic pregnancy? An ectopic was found last week (monday) and I was given a dose of methotrexate to dissolve the embryo (in my fallopian tube - originally thought to be on my ovary)... but after a week, my betas continued to rise. I was just given a second treatment last night.

Has anyone had to have two treatments of methotrexate? Or any treatments for an ectopic??

I'm very concerned about the long term effects of the chemical...

I had an extopic and received Methotrexate in September of last year. I fortunately only needed one shot however it did take about a week for my numbers to go down. While I had a general feeling of "crappyiness" and some nausea, I expected the side effects to be a lot of worse. I know MrsMessina had the shot last year as well. I'm sorry you're going through this, the emotional trauma was a lot worse for me than the shot was

The emotional aspect of this whole experience is very draining... it makes think of why this would happen. I didn't have any infections or an IUD... this just doesn't make any sense. To top it all off, the physical side effects are HORRENDOUS! I feel like I've been hit by a truck, the back aches and the bleeding are very uncomfortable... My doctor was even more surprised that I had to have a second treatment than I was.
I just don't know what more to expect with this...

Two years ago I had an ectopic pregnancy and needed 2 shots to take care of it.

It was very hard for me, I was so thrilled to be pregnant, or think I was.

I had to take 1 shot (2 vials) of methotraxate in September of last year. It was my first IVF and after over 4 years of TTC we were finally pregnant. They couldn't figure out if it was a chemical or an etopic and weren't allowing the chance to find out... so they made me take the metrotrexate... and then we were forced to sit out for 3 months before we were allowed to try again.
I remember feeling the same as you described - like I had been hit by a truck.... I don't think I got out of bed for 4 days unless it was to use the bathroom. It was by far the worst I've ever felt in my life. I'm sorry you're going thru this. I'm here if you need to talk.
