Edibel favors for a 3 year old party-- yay or nay?

I feel like it is so much easier and practical to get an edible favor for my DD's party in January. I'm thinking that right after the holidays, parents are trying to declutter as much as possible and a party bag filled with little toys might be a nightmare. I was thinking boxed cupcakes or a cookie based on the theme of the party.

how do the rest of you parents feel about edible favors?

Personally I love them. all those little crappy toys are choked on, break or just plain garbage that my kids forget about the next day. I love edible favors, especially when mommy can sneak a piece LOL

We did edible favors for DDs 3rd birthday 2 weeks ago. We did cake pops and chocolate coins. I personally prefer that to the little toys that are all over my house after a party.

I agree with the other posters. I hate the junky toys that kids get in goodie bags.

A nice cookie or something is nice - but I would say away from a bag of say candy though.

Cookies are my favorite favor to hand out at my DCs parties.

I am responding yes to the party if you are giving out cupcakes Chat Icon . Jk i agree we start cleaning things out after e holidays to make room for things we got over the holidays so i think edible is the way to go ....people are most likely going to be uncluttering ...so if i was paying for it i would rather someone eat it then prob throw it away eventually.

I said no, we never take them due to my DS's severe food allergies.

But you should do what you like, you're never going to find something that works for everyone, KWIM?

I know I said above a cookie - but only if you know that all the children can eat them. It is hard when I take DD to a birthday party and the only favor they give is a chocolate lollypop because than I have to take it away from her and explain why she doesn't have a favor (she has several food allergies). Otherwise if there are no food allergies it is a nice favor.
