Thank you.
I just talked to her and they are sending him home. They "think" it is Hand, Hoof & Mouth disease. 
which I believe a form of coxsackie. They told her to keep him hydrated, continue to give him ibuprofen and if the swelling gets worse to bring him back in. Otherwise, she needs to just let it run it's course.
She said the redness looks like a really bad sunburn Poor baby, he's only a yr old.

I was thinking either poison ivy or an allergic reaction. Either way I hope he feels better soon. Poor baby

Sounds like coxsackie. My DS had it around 10 months, it's actually pretty common. Hope he gets better soon!!

DD and DS had it at 6 months and it sounds just like you describe. The rash and blisters between their fingers and toes was so bad Hope he feels better soon!
just watch for signs on infection on any of the open sores my ds needed antibiotics because they were so bad.

how do you avoid your lo from getting this? It sounds horrible for them ...i hope your grandchild gets over it fast.

This exactly. Happened to my DD at 2, it was awful!

for the blisters in the mouth my pediatrician recommended a mixture (all equal parts) of maalox, benadryl and tylenol. stick a q-tip in the mixture and dab it onto the blisters. it's an awful illness but very common.

I hope your grandson gets over it quickly! DS had it last month, he didn't have many blisters on his hands and feet but, he had a lot in his mouth and throat and he was miserable!
Motrin helped him get more comfy.
