Re: Check out this schedule for disney
I'm not an expert on Disney so I dont know the acronyms but we were just there in October and I have 2 suggestions for you. Try to get into Chef Mickey for any meal. It was recommended to me by alot of people and it was so much fun! And for Ohana, I would say breakfast not dinner. The dinner didnt have characters and the entertainment was borderline annoying. Have fun!!!

I agree with this! Try to get Chef Mickey's in your schedule if you can. I loved 'Ohana breakfast. By far the best breakfast I had at Disney and the character interaction was cute!

Check out this schedule for disney
We did Chef Mickey's the night we arrived which was perfect because we were staying at the Contemporary and my DD got to see all the characters..it was great! We did the dinner and even though the food was nothing special..it was a typical buffet food..the characters were so much fun!

I'd do a quick service dinner or maybe just a late lunch sit down on the day of the dessert party. you'll want to bring your full appetite.

'Ohana is excellent for breakfast or dinner. it's hard for me to give you specific feedback on the itinerary without knowing what time of year it is and what else might be going on. When I make itineraries it's always with the date, crowds, EMH, nighttime entertainment, etc in mind.
At DHS I really enjoy Prime Time 50's. No characters but lots of fun and the food is great
ETA: I don't know what kind of meal plan you have or how many meals you're trying to do, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Boma for an after AK dinner.

Ok so we finally booked!!! I am so excited to take DD back! Staying in POR
We will be there 5 nights/ 6 days
Arrival day: MK. Maybe lunch at wilderness then rest of day MK. We have the dessert fireworks party booked for night. Where should we do dinner? CRT all booked :(
Day 2. Princess breakfast in Norway/ Epcot all day / morocco dinner
Day 3 MK. Ohana breakfast ? Dinner
Day 4 HS. ? Breakfast/ dinner
Day 5 AK Tusker house breakfast MK in afternoon ? Dinner
Day 6 late departure maybe DTD for day ? Breakfast
So we have only 3 character meals booked. Should I do more? I really wanted CRT again Bc we loved last time and it's booked.
Suggestions please!!!!
I have heard Liberty Tree Tavern n MK is great for dinner. But it's a fixed menu. We went for lunch only and had great burgers.
Best meal we had was Ohana dinner. We did do Ohana for character breakfast and if you recall we had the most awful experience of our trip. I would never ever do it again.
Crystal Palace for breakfast wth Pooh is great. Loved loved loved Chef Mickeys for breakfast, have heard dinner was just ok.
What about a Cinderella dinner at Grand Floridian? Next time we go back i wll be doing one of those.
What else? Hmmm. I have heard great things about Yak and Yeti in AK. I wish I could have gone.
I also plan to do Trails End for a buffet next trip. They have my favorite friend chicken. I have never done it but will surely do it next time.
Best thing we did also was the Luau at the Poly. But I dont know if its running in Jan or may be cold.

Check out this schedule for disney
I found that the week before my trip I was able to get reservations at places that were booked when I first started looking.
We had a great time at the breakfast at Tusker House. I think 3 character meals is enough. We did 2 when we were there and it was perfect.

I would probably cancel the Epcot one and do something at GF.
I would probably do LTT first night or maybe Tonys Town Square. I had that one reserved but never made it. Have heard so so things about it but know DD would have liked the Lady and the Tramp decor.

The last night in Disney (we stayed in the Contemporary), we had no plans for dinner so we put our name on the list and got one of those beeper things and just waited the hour or so and got to go a 2nd time during our trip with no reservation.
ETA: We scheduled the waiting part for the fireworks show so the wait seemed like no time at all!

Re: EDITED Check out this schedule for disney
Are you on the deluxe dining? That is a lot of sit downs. Do you have ADRs for all of them? Sounded like 50s you might not.
Day 1 what time do you arrive? I see you are doing lunch at CRT - how much time between landing and your ADR? I heard good things about the dessert party but haven't done it.
Are you getting a park hopper bc if you only plan to hop once it probably isn't worth it. While I am a big fan of the PHs if I only planned to used them once I might save the money for something else.
1900 Park Fare sounds like fun but it will be a pain to get from POR to the GF then to HS. I assume you won't be there at rope drop. January is generally slow but you might find FP are gone/or only available late in the day, or long lines for Toy Story Mania. I would say you would be better to hit MK or EPCOT on the day you eat at 1900 Park Fare.

Hmmm good point Ok we have ADRa for everything I mentioned. Maybe I'll skip 1900 park fare then and try and go straight to HS that day.
We arrive at 10. CRT is 240. Is that enought time ?

Rental car or ME? I know they suggest 1hr + to plan to get from the hotel to the parks by bus. Honestly it rarely takes that- but if you miss a bus, or the bus is full etc it can take a while. I would want to head to the park by 1 no later than 130 - to get through security, ticket turnstiles etc. Now if you do ME you can go quick or take a long time. Weekend peak times can take a while. Last time we did ME it took about 90 mins. I have had friends walk right up, get right on a bus and be the 1st stop. It is about a 30 min drive from the airport to WDW. Most buses stop more than one hotel. I think from people we know ME takes 30-240 mins. January should be more quiet but it depends on the week. I would allow for 2 hrs to be extra cautious but plan for it to take less hopefully much less. I would allow plenty of time if the flight is delayed as well. Also give 30 mins for check in.
I think you "should" make it but I would try to make it later if possible if you are concerned. I mean say your flight is an hour late, it takes you 2 hours to get to your hotel, check in has a long line bc you are last off the bus so that takes 30 mins, then 1 hr to get to the park would mean you would be there around 230. I would personally pick something after 3 but you would probably make the one you have. I just hate to run and rush or be nervous that we would be late on vacation esp for a special meal like CRT (and esp bc you have cancellation charges vs say sci fi or other restaurant you can not show or cancel last minute.)
One thing to consider (we learned the hard way last trip) we had a 5 pm ADR for 1900 park fare our arrival day last year. My girl were so tired and so excited to go to the MK they were in no mood to do a sit down. We hit the MK for about 2 hours then did a CS meal at our hotel and crashed. The trip before we went to kona and everyone was tired (we had a bad experience which didn't help) but it left me thinking maybe we won't plan a special meal for arrival day on our next trip. This may not be an issue for your family but with younger kids and getting up really early for our flight just made them "off" for our arrival day. Next time I would plan to hit the MK but not have any expectations.

Completely agree with you. CRT is actually all booked and one day Bc I kept trying i saw it open up and I grabbed it. We did it last year and dd loved it so I just took what I could get. Maybe I'll get lucky and another time will open up.

I would not book a meal at CRT for an arrival day in January. If the flight is delayed due to a snowstorm, etc. You are out of luck since its fully prepaid. Just my .02
