Edited- I asked again this morning...Tomorrow night...I get to re-live the IM shot at shea
(yes, this is IF related as no one else has a clue what I'm talking about- lol!)
Thought those of you who are going to Shea might want to meet me at 'my' family restroom for my IM shot! I still have to find out where our seats are- we're going w/ my brother and SIL, their daughter (she's 5 and LOVES Billy Joel- it's her first concert ) and my mom Should be fun- and I get to relive the memory that I thought would be a once in a lifetime experience I know some of you are going- I'm going to try to find out where our seats are tonight- maybe I'll meet up w/ some of you there!
ETA: Do you think that it's going to be tighter security than usual? Last week I 'hid' my syringe and medication in my tote bag- but I don't know if I'll get away w/ that tomorrow... what do you think?

Don't you have a window of a few hours? You could do it before or after the show....

I thought that too, but when I asked the nurse she told me they HAD to be done at the same time every night. I didn't get that either- b/c even though I do take my meds at the same time each night, I didn't think an hour or so would make a difference...I thought that was why there was a window time frame. I'm leaving to go in for monitoring- I'll ask a different nurse, and see what they say. Thanks!

I was always told a two hour window...and trust me - I NEVER did my injections at the same time.

Re: Tomorrow night...I get to re-live the IM shot at shea
Ok- I just got back. I asked Dr. D - she did my sono this morning in the PJ office. She told me the same thing. I told her we'd be leaving Queens around 7:30/7:45 for Shea b/c my brother's apartment is right there and she said that was too long and now that things are 'progressing nicely' she'd hate for me to mess it up by doing it too early. I usually do it at 9:00, so it'd be an hour and 15 mins to an hour and a half earlier... is it really that much of a diff??? UGH!!!! This is so annoying- when I was w/ my last dr, I used to do my gonal-f shots in the window time frame as well, though I always tried to do it at the same time each night when I could. The nurses (I asked a diff. nurse this am before the dr while getting my bloodwork done) and dr. at this dr. have all said the same thing now. Oh well, I guess DH and I have a date w/ a big needle in the family bathroom

Now THAT would be a Kodak moment! Besides, my left cheek would feel neglected though, when it has the opportunity of being stabbed in Shea's family restroom like the right side did!!! Ahh, gotta love life! Laughter keeps us going...

Sorry, this is going to be long!
Yup- after that I had no problem getting it in but I had a dr's note just in case. Now doing the injection- that's a different story I had forgotten how truly inconsiderate people can be until I was quickly reminded tonight.
First I go to find the family restroom... little did I know there is only 1 on the whole level so we have to walk from one side of the stadium to the other. Ok, I have my little ziplock of ice to ice the area, b/c I'm a chicken, but however it gets done as long as it gets done, right??? The line has about 15 ppl on it- and like 14 of them are women! Why can't they just use the women's room?- there are at least 2 on the level if not 3. They took FOREVER- we finally left and went inside- I told DH we'd go back out in a little while once the concert got going- and we did.
I went into the women's restroom, pulled out my ganirelix and my now cold water b/c all the ice melted in a matter of 5 mins and I did the subq injection no problem in the stall.... got water everywhere but what are you gonna do??? I walk out of the stall and there are not joking 30 people on line even though like 4 mins if even before there was NO ONE....luckily there were a dozen stalls or so in there so they weren't all waiting for me!
Then DH and I stop, get more ice, then go to the family restroom AGAIN (after asking 3 diff. employees if there was a first aid station or bathroom to do injections in on the way and being told no)- wait on the line, I go in alone to mix the meds and ice. I lock the door (or so I think) and while I'm standing there mixing meds a woman comes flying in and is getting ready to use the restroom! Um, are you kidding me!?!?!? Clearly it was a one room stall... I just look at her and finally she walks out! DH was RIGHT in front of the door and got a phone call - and she walked right by him when he turned to pick up his phone I guess... Then he comes in. He told the ppl behind us that I'm going to be about 5 mins to do this b/c he has to give me a shot and to please be patient..... unbelievable!!!--- BANG BANG BANG BANG and ppl are screaming through the door! Now I lose it and start screaming back- I called them a moron and told them to go use the regular restroom! I thought I was going to get into the first fight of my life (me- the non-confrontational one )
DH quickly stepped in front of the door and wouldn't let me out b/c he knew I meant it.... and by the time I got out whoever did it was 'supposedly' gone... I just stormed past the ppl on line! What is wrong w/ people??? I could see it if we hadn't actually told them what we were doing, but that was just really rude!
On a side note, I am so done with these shots- if they honestly think that the stress I went through in getting my shot done at the 'right' time was better then being a little early or late, I think next time I'm just winging it... I even told them where we were heading- public events like this are always a zoo... I'm just glad it's over for tonight--- I was in the worst mood for the first 1/2 of the concert and broke down crying in front of my DB, SIL and mom.... I blame it on the hormones. Looking back though the concert was awesome and I'm so glad I went!

Yikes - I guess they sold many more tickets for Billy than the Mets game (LOL). I cannot even imagine. People are annoying, but we all know that already.
The good thing is that you did it. And hopefully you will be triggering tonight. I think you are mentally ready for that...LOL.
I'll be looking for your post later.
