EDITED Q: What is the safest/no fumes/chemicals paint brand available for the nursery? How is BM Natura paint?
I see a lot of ladies posting on here about natural paints that don't smell that don't have the dangerous chemicals in them...what is the brand and where can I get it? TIA so much!
ETA:
If you have used BENJAMIN MOORE NATURA paint - how was it? How was the smell? Did it smell? How did it look?
TIA!

I am not sure about natural paints, but latex based paints generally are lower in VOCs than other types of paint. Oil-based paints emit more harmful fumes.

The paint guy at Home Depot told DH and I that those paints r BS- that the difference is negligible AND that they don't work as well. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me b/c he had both for sale... I forget the name of the brand. We used Behr primer + paint in one and I just didn't help plus we opened the windows.

Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams (I'm sure there are others) have paints that are low VOC.
I just searched this recently since we were painting our nursery. They said latex based paints are better than oil as pp stated.
We opted for the latex paint because it covered better and it was going over a brighter color. As long as you

Goldenrod has posted about Mythic Paint on the home board. It's zero VOC while the others may be low VOC.

Mythic Paint
Thanks for mentioning this. I did a lot of research when having my house worked on. Especially for DC's bedrooms, where the door is closed, and they are breathing in whatever is in there for 8+ hours a night minimum... All of the big brands have some VOCs, even the "zero VOC" paint... The gov't allows them to say zero if the white base has very little VOCs, but they can then add as much as they want in the colorant, which is misleading, and defeats the purpose of "zero VOC" paint it it's not zero when you use it.
Paint can off-gas for up to a year, so venting the room for a few hours gets rid of a lot of fumes, but definitely not all of them.
Mythic Paint is one of the few paints that have zero VOCs, even with the color. They can custom match any color you like, so if you have a favorite BM color, you can still get it.
It is more expensive than other paints, but as a compromise, you may want to use Mythic for the bedrooms, and cheaper "low VOC" paint for the other rooms.
ETA: HomeDepot has Freshaire paint, which is also zero VOC, but there are very few colors available, which is why I didn't use them.

Valspar is at Lowe's, I think Olympic is there as well. Glidden might be Home Depot but I'm not positive.

We use Olympic...they claim no VOD but it really doesn't smell much at all.

Thanks so much for posting this info! I checked out the home depot brand today and the color selection for a pink nursery is non-existent. I checked out the website from Mythic and there are no retailers in my area - unfortunately I am out of time here and can't wait to get samples etc. and order the paint online as I want to get the room painted next weekend. But, I will DEFINITELY be using this in the future! Thanks so much!
