Just trying to get an idea -

When did you get AF for the first time?

Was it a regular AF?

Was your cycle regular after that i.e. did you get AF again one cycle later or not for several months?

Did your cycle go back to the way it was b/f you were pregnant?

ETA another q: I noticed alot of you posted that you got AF once DC started on solids. Is getting AF a sign that DC is eating less and/or your milk supply is decreasing? TIA so much!

Unfortunately I can answer this question. Seven weeks . . . AF came exactly 7 weeks 3 days after delivery. So far it appears to be regular AF.

I got AF for the first time at exactly 6 weeks. It was definitely heavier than before getting pregnant. It has reared its ugly head every month just like it did before I was pregnant and on the pill. The only difference is that it seems to last longer and is definitely a lot lot heavier than before.

I got it back at 6 months, which was around the time that I really started introducing solids and also occasional bottles of formula. It was MUCH heavier the first few times. And not regular at all. At first it was coming every 2 months and then gradually my cycles started getting shorter, but never got back to normal by the time I got pg with #2 (5-6 weeks in between cycles) and that was when my DS was 15 months old.

I got mine 4 months exactly from my due date....the first cycle was super light & only lasted 3 days. The next time around (29 days later) it was much heavier the first day & then wasn't much different than it used to be.

5.5 mos PP- and they've been every 29 days since.....

I bled for 6w PP, then got AF 3 weeks later. First one was a bit heavy, but is now back to normal.

I got mine back last week - 2 1/2 YEARS after conceiving DD...so far it sems just as normal as any other AF- maybe lasting a little longer but thats it.

In one way I was kind of glad to know its back and everything is working!

I'm almost 5 months PP and still no sign of her!!!

I actually went to the Gyn for a Pap last week and the nurse asked me when my last period was and I laughed.... um November of 06????

9 weeks with the first
I didn't get one back with my second (was still nursing her at 21 months and then became pregnant)
7 months with the third

I got my period back 6 months PP, and it was HEAVY!!! I actually went to the dr to make sure it was my period--lol

My periods were regular after that, and never as heavy as it was the first time.

I had a very light period a few weeks ago but haven't had one in over 2 years. Still Breast Feeding though.

I got AF exactly 8 months from the day that DS was born. It lasted for 4 days and was very light.

I haven't gotten it since-- but he hasn't turned 9 months yet. So I really just got it for the first time.

There is a great variations as to when women get AF again when they're BFing. There are some women who don't get it until they completely wean.

Thank you ladies for your repsonses.I am 5 mos pp today and I *think* I am getting AF - I say *think* b/c last mo i had light spotting for one day and that was it - so maybe this will be the same. But, now after reading the posts i see many of u didn't get af until dc started solids - is getting af a sign that your milk supply is decreasing? i have been feeling like DC is eating less lately and now i am worried

I am 6.5 months PP and still no AF and DD has been on solids since 4.5 months old. Yesterday I just upted it to 3 times a day.
