EI ? Second try
DS was tested at 14/15 months and I want him tested again.
Do I have to wait 6 months exactly? Should I have a different company test? Do I still use the same contact lady?
My mom brings DS to a library class weekly and they have social workers, speech people pop in every few weeks. The same lady also talks to my mom, telling her how I can't beleive DS did not pass the first time, ect, ect.... She tells my mom how he could of been passed because of this or that.... I get ****** off at my mom and at the lady because he did noy qualify because he understands to much and my mom just does not get it...
I think I'm going to try to contact the library lady and she which company she works for...

If you want to go through EI (county) you must wait the 6 months.
If you want to get him tested privately, through your own insurance or at your own expense, you can do so now.
Good luck.

Re: EI ? Second try
Have you checked with the pediatrician? He/She may have a someone they recommend for an evaluation. I used a place in Setauket (Alternatives for Children) for Brendan's full evaluation. However, he didnt qualify either for services. If you really want to get him reevaluated now instead of 6 months, you can always do that... I was concerned with Brendan's speech too but he was tested at about 3 years old. Maybe they wanted to hold off on Ryan's eval until he learned some more words. 14-15 months seems a little early for a speech eval and if his receptive speech is average, I'm guessing thats why he did not qualify yet. I hope this made sense.

I'm not sure if insurance always covers it though... you may have to pay out of pocket...
