El. ed teachers-conferences
What do you give out at conferences?
I try to have some websites and dolch word lists but I thought we could share some ideas.
I tell them about starfall.com, freereading.net and rif.org.

I don't give out anything except the kids report cards. I give out lots of stuff at Open House

I don't give out a lot at conferences. I will only give something out or make a rec. if it is directly related to the child's needs. Parents are so overwhelmed/nervous when they come to conferences I think. I do the less is more approach as a result.

One time I made the mistake of putting out cookies...does that count BIG MISTAKE! I put them in the hallway, they were gone in 5 minutes by everyone and anyone passing in the hallway.
