Electric
Our electrical system is old and our power tends to trip when we have multiple ACs going or are using the toaster, dishwasher and coffee maker simultaneously. I know nothing about this but I’m thinking we need to rewire the house. Additionally, I’d like to install a central air unit that’s attached to the side lid the house. Anyone know what this is called? It’s mounted to the side of the house. Any help you could provide me would be so great. I am clueless! Thanks!!!

Re: Electric
It sounds like you're referring to ductless a/c.
For your electric, you need an electrician. Sounds like you may need to increase your electrical box voltage and number of circuits. It's not as complicated as totally rewiring your entire house unless you also have an old house that ungrounded.
Anyway, talk to an electrician. It may not be as scary as it sounds. We're doing a lot of electrical upgrades to a house we just bought, but it sounded way scarier in my head before I brought in an electrician to talk about what actually needs to be done.

Re: Electric
I agree. A lot of houses are 100 amp electric, which can be adequate if the house is small or you run a lot of things (stove, dryer, hot water heater, etc.) on gas instead of electric.
But if you don't have gas and you want to add upgrades (pool, hot tub, CAC, etc.), people often have to upgrade their electrical panel to 150 amps or 200 amps, and/or get subpanels. Upgrading the electrical panel is usually in the realm of $2000-$2500, so not a huge expense.
Sometimes breakers trip because you have overloaded circuits or doubled up circuits that shouldn't be.
But having an electrician come in to give his recommendations is the way to go!
