Electrolysis
Has anyone had it done on their face? I am considering it but wonder about cost, side effects while having it done, etc. Please share any experiences you have or know of. Thanks.

Re: Electrolysis
i dont really know of any significant side effects. i have been getting electrolysis and now laser for over 10 years. it is wonderful.
i guess a small side effect would be that the area in which you receive the electrolysis will be red for a couple of hours
HTH!

Re: Electrolysis
I do get it done on my face, I also have fairly sensitive skin. My girl only does 15 min on me and I will have red bumps for the remainder of the day. it is not to bad. I think for the 15 min I pay 25 dollars. She is great the woman I go to.. FM me if you want her info.

Re: Electrolysis
I have heard mixed things about electrolysis- a woman at my old job had it done- and she had really bad wrinkles around the area- that scared me off
I would do lasar instead

Re: Electrolysis
I would strongly suggest the laser electrolysis over regular electrolysis. There is a SIGNIFICANT difference in the pain.

Re: Electrolysis
I am an esthetician and would definately suggest Laser over Electolysis. Just make sure wherever you go they have references and the girl is expererienced because you can get burned.

Re: Electrolysis
I have been getting my eyebrows, lip and chin done since the spring. I have not experienced any side effects and it doesn't hurt more then tweezing. The area is red and a little tender for a while (not as bad as waxing though). I am definitely seeing an improvement.

Re: Electrolysis
it takes 6 weeks for a hair to grow back and it takes a few treatments per folicle to kill the folicle.
and some of us are just blessed with more hair than others and hormones change and new hairs that were there b4 grow in...

Re: Electrolysis
I have been considering this since I really have to be constantly waxing facial hair.
A lady that I go for facials gave me the nace of a place they do it for $10 for half an hr. It's a school though, but they are supervised by the licensed instructors.
If any1 is interested: Berkowits School of Electrolysis in Flushing. 718 544-4234

Re: Electrolysis
Had electrolysis done on my face (another Mediterranean woman)
It does take a long time to see no regrowth at all because hair that was plucked can take up to six months to grow back. I went from having to tweeze every day to seeing her about once every four months now for a quick 5 minutes. It is permanent and it absolutely changed my life. I have a wonderful electrologist in Freeport if you need someone - she'll also do a free consultation.
