Elevated Blood Pressure- UGH
So last night was the second appt in a row that my BP was elevated. I had no protein in my urine and my swelling is really minor these days- and only in my ankles. And to that end- I didn't gain ANY weight since my last visit a month ago. Which is great if we are trying to gauge any fluid retention I guess...
The Dr wasn't TOO concerned but I am.
He is sending me for the 24 hour urine collection- which I am familar with from my kidney stone days. I told him I can't store it in the fridge at work (how nasty would that be? A great big old jug of my pee in the work fridge next to the coffee creamers and people's lunches? ) so I am doing it Sunday and bringing it to the lab on Monday.
Then I have to go back to see the Dr again next week for the results of that and to check my BP again.
I'm just really scared. I'm a worrier as it is and something like this is NO GOOD for me. Last night I was having AWFUL dreams about the baby. About something being wrong with her. They seemed so real too- I woke up in tears at one point and had to talk myself down that it was only a dream. And THIS is not good for my BP either.
I need to get a hold of myself...I'm just so worried!

Re: Elevated Blood Pressure- UGH
It was like 140 over something- I didn't hear the bottom number It was the exact same thing at last months appt. But my issue is- Dr's offices ALWAYS make my BP high. I'm just very anxious in ANY medical setting. I have always been that way.
However, since it was lower at past appts that is what raised the red flag.
Again he wasn't too concerned but they need to take all the necessary precautions- which is good- but the stress of this is only making it worse- like a vicious cycle!

I am usually not nervous at the doctors so my BP is pretty low, but how am I NOT suppose to be nervous tonight when they MIGht tell me I have to deliver early!

Yesterday I did drink a LOT Of water. So I know I was ok on that front. But the salt- well that's harder to control. I really try- but it seems it's EVERYWHERE. I am going to try to really buckle down on that though...I'll probably end up eating raw salads for every meal since EVERYTHING seems to be full of sodium these days....

Yep this is what I mean- they tell you your BP is high which makes you worry more and it's a vicious cycle.
Good luck to you too!

Hang in there sweetie. It is a good thing the doctor is not too concerned. Also it seems you are taking all the steps to ensure your health & your baby's. that everything will be fine.
