Elf on a Shelf Spinoff
Thank you to everyone that posted about this. I have never heard of it, but would love to do it.
My question, did you order the book and use that elf, or have you found a dfferent elf that you use? Thanks!

I use the traditional elf with the book. I read the story too him the day after Thanksgiving because that is really when Santa starts watching our house and the Elf appears

I just bought one from Hicks farms.. 29.99 same as online.. and no shipping fee.
I went to cards stores looking and one lady told me she has elfs.. and just put one of those on a shelf  .. yeah okay lady just say you dont know what im talking about. I wanted the one with the storie book. Some stores are $$$ one place wanted 40.00
eta: im going to start putting elf out day after thanksgiving.. show dd santa in the thanksgiving parade.. and tell her he dropped off his elves.

My kids are 7,3 and 20 months... I've been doing it since my middle DD was a baby and they have never been scared of it.. they look forward to him coming

We use the Elf that came with the book. Caiden loves it. I'm going to introduce it to Connor this year too! I highly recommend it. Though sometimes we have forgotten to move him, and of course my son notices so I tell him he must of fell asleep and forgot to go back to the North Pole. Then when he's not looking we'll move it and ask him where did the Elf go?
