Emerson's First Birthday - (PIC OVERLOAD)
My DD's Emerson had her first birthday party yesterday and it went GREAT! Everyone had a really nice time, the food was delicious (almost all cooked by ME!), and the place looked great!!
We did a Backyardigans themed party since it's Emerson's favorite show. I decorated the room with all of the characters and the tables were covered with different Backyardigans colors. Everything looked really cute. I made trays of sausage and peppers and penne ala vodka to serve for dinner. We also had a tossed salad and a huge hero of chicken cutlets, roasted red peppers, and fresh mozzarella. For dessert we had a cake from BJ's, homemade cupcakes, homemade chocolate dipped pretzels made by my BFF, and cookies and brownies. Everything was so delicious and there were hardly any leftovers!! 
Emerson looked beautiful in her dress and got so many awesome gifts. Everyone was so generous. Instead of goodie bags (because we had so many kids of different ages) I set up a "Kiddie Fun Table" which was a huge hit. I had coloring pages, crayons, pads, stickers, glow sticks, masks, hats, bubbles, paddle balls, yo-yos etc. It kept the kids busy all day! It was a really great (and exhausting!) day!! awww....everything turned out great! She looked so gorgeous in that dress 0 veeery pretty! I love the idea of the kids fun table.

thanks!! I actually got her dress at Macy's in Smithhaven Mall. It was $56 with 40% off and then another 20% off with your Macy's card. What a deal!! I found pink paten leather shoes at Payless for $4.
I had the party at the clubhouse in my Grandmother's townhome complex. It was great and dirt cheap. Only a $100 to rent the room. You have to know someone in the complex though to be able to rent it out. Good luck finding somewhere!!

Glad you guys had fun and I'm SO happy you made the trip out. It was GREAT to see you!! Riley is such a little cutie patootie!! So yep........I cooked. I can't see catering Italian food when I'm Italian and know how to cook most things.  It was waaaaaay cheaper cooking myself then having it catered and I'm glad everyone enjoyed all the food.
Emme loved her gifts..........she says thanks to you and Riley!!!
