Empire waisted clothing is not TTC friendly.

Everywhere I go I see empire waisted shirts and dresses. I stay clear of them because they all make me look pregnant. Frankly, I don't want to look pregnant until I am. I wish this style would fade away soon. JMO.

Does anyone else feel this way?

OMG it's funny you say that. The last week of school I wore a cute empire waiste dress and I kept feeling like I looked pregnant and then the custodian said, "Ya having a baby?" I felt like saying I wish!! But yes, I feel the same as you do. I will also be GLAD to rock it once I really do have a baby bump!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Empire waisted clothing is not TTC friendly.

Every trend looks like maternity clothes these days. While it bothers me b/c I feel uncomfortable looking pg - it almost makes me feel a little better b/c women who I know are not (and not trying) do too.
Yesterday I was at a BBQ and my friend was commenting on someone's outfit making her look pg - I just said, "that's the trend". At least now, when Chat Icon I am pg, maybe people won't question it for a bit b/c that's what everyone's wearing.

I wore one to my nieces baptism. At the party one uncle came up to me and said "so looks like you will be hosting a baptism party yourself soon." Chat Icon Chat Icon I was so embarrassed. I politely told him NO but it made me feel so crappy the whole day.

Im with all you ladies, when I am pg I will be rockin them as well.

I say rejoice that the style is IN now and you can buy them rather than the more unflattering maternity wear.

I've bought myself a couple of those outfits, tops and dresses, and know I'll be making full use of them now and when I'm pregnant!

I bought them at Forever 21, and at 15-20 bucks a piece they are so much cuter and affordable than the stuff at the maternity stores! :D

Re: Empire waisted clothing is not TTC friendly.

When clothes make me look bigger than I am, I have a very hard time rejoicing. An empire cut may look cute on petite women, and though I am not overweight, it just does NOT look good on me or cute. That being said, I would also not buy any clothing for a pregnancy in advance. I do not know when I will conceive and what months I will be carrying through. It is not worth it for me.

I agree with you on not wanting to look PG until it actually happens. I have a little belly to begin with and these trendy baby doll tops only make me look very pg.

I just bought a whole bunch of cute cheap tops b/c I was pregnant.

Even though they are in, I can't even try one - forget about wearing it out of the house. So bittersweet...

I'm hearing you. I tried to buy something to wear to take my mother out for Mother's Day - and that's all I could find in the stores.
