End of school year gifts - what are you giving?
I am considering giving each teacher two movie passes. I have a total of 6 teachers to give to - 2 main and 4 assistants between my two boys.
Is this an ok gift to give?
What are you doing for end of school year gifts?
I gave AMEX gift cards for Christmas and sent in a Panera Bread platter for Teacher Appreciation Week last month.
Last year, I did Starbux and Target gift cards. I did not send anything in for Teacher Appreciation week.

I think movie passes are a great gift! Last year I did a movie gift basket for my parents for Christmas from my girls...Target had those plastic containers that look like popcorn containers and I put in a few boxes of candy and microwave popcorn to fill it out. It was cute.

With my older girls, I usually just contribute to the class collection, but for their dance/piano teachers and my youngest's preschool teachers I typically give Target gift cards and for the younger assistants, iTunes gift cards, or Dunkin Donuts gift cards. I think I've done American Eagle as well for the younger ones.

For Christmas I gave Dunkin donuts cards and brought in bagels and coffee. For teacher appreciationI brought in donuts and coffee. I didn't even think about it!

I'm a teacher and you can not go wrong with gift cards. If you don't know what they like or where they shop, get an Amex card because they can use it anywhere. If you know where they shop like Target or Kohl's get it to that. A teacher would be happy with either.

I like the movie ticket idea! Last year we did Summer totes filled with Summer stuff (tumblers, towels, etc.). This year I contributed to the class collection for my youngest, and I have no idea what they are getting with it.
I'm not a fan of cash equivalent gift cards. Of course the teachers like them, but for me I just find it to be impersonal, and I would feel like I'm just handing them cash. Just my opinion though.

I'm not a teacher in a classroom but I teach dance at two studios part time and I have gotten a lot of travel mugs, popcorn boxes, lotion sets etc. They're always appreciated but I have a million and very seldom use them. Now that I have a dd of my own I get DD cards personalized with her picture for the babysitters. You can also have the card personalized on the website so I put "Thanks a latte for all you do" so it was personal but also something I knew they'd use.
For the record, I love receiving Amex gift cards. It might sound materialistic but you can always use them and I never think to myself "I wish they had put more thought into this".

We gave AMEX gift cards for Christmas. I was thinking movie tickets or starbux for end of year.

My DC are in daycare. Last year I gave $50 AMEX gift cards. This year I will do the same or give cash. I've done Target gifts in the past which they loved.

I like this idea. Where do you get the personalized gift cards?
