Re: Donate a book to a child in Africa!

I'm sorry - I don't want this to come out wrong; but I am an Assistant Principal in Queens where I have worked for 13 years with children living in poverty and MANY of the students in my school do not have books in their homes

I am just tired of helping so many other countries when there are children and people here, in the United States of America that are just as needy

Actually the books are donated to the schools, not to children's homes...

Sorry, but I kind of agree with snowflake08.

Not to sound uninformed, but why would English books be donated to countries where English is not the primary language?

Re: Donate a book to a child in Africa!

There's always someone who needs something - people here and people there. It does seem like a great cause. With charity, there is always an opportunity to say "well, but before I donate there - what about..." So it is hard. I guess you just have to pick what is important to you and do the best you can.

Because most children in the world learn english as their second language and they start teaching them young. This is a good organization. Thanks for postingChat Icon

why i felt the need to post what? what i wrote?

because i feel very strongly about charity starting at home, and in this case "at home" means my homeland

i didnt say anything mean or wrong - it is my opinion
