Endocrinologist Rec in Suffolk Please!
My mom needs to switch endocrinologists ASAP. She has hyper thyroidism and her current doctor keeps INSISTING that she has HYPO-thyroidism. He has prescribed her the wrong medication twice and yelled at her and berated her when she called to question it. If you saw my mom, you would know right away that it most certainly OVER active and not UNDER active. She's 5'9 and just over 120 pounds.
I will not let her go back to this guy. If you have anyone you would recommend, please let me know. She has Empire insurance, if that makes a difference.

That is strange considering a blood test pretty much tells you if you are hypo or hyper depending on which way your numbers go  Also usually synthroid is the medication for both....
My endo is Dr. Sussman in Smithtown. 979-7900.

That's exactly who I was going to rec. I saw her a few times just for evaluation and she was just wonderful. She's off of 347 just behind Boulder Creek (If I remeber correctly).

I know! He had been treating her for hyper after all of her bloodwork was done about 6 months ago and the last time she was in there, he was all flustered and told her that she was hypo. I don't trust this guy with her care.
