Engagement Gift ideas?
My cousin recently got engaged and I was trying to think of something useful to get her. I am really drawing a blank on things that i got that I REALLY used when I got engaged. Any ideas would be great!

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
What about a subscription to Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine and a gift certificate to Fortunoff / Bed Bath and Beyond?

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
I got a few wedding planners that were helpful. I also got a subscription to Brides magazine. i wish I got one to Martha Stewart weddings too. Another really helpful thing would have been if someone could have made me the binder I used to organize everything. I had no idea what I was doing on that and it would have been so helpful if a recent bride who knew what she was doing had done it for me!
I can't really think of any gifts geared towards the couple though. We got lots of gorgeous vases. I love getting nice picture frames too.

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
The best engagement gift ever (besides cold hard cash) was a gift certificate to Crate & Barrel!! We redid our whole place with all those!!!!

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
We loved our toasting flutes and matching dessert server. It was one less decision to make and one less item to buy.

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
One more: my girlfriend got a premade scrapbook at her engagement party. It was really nice. If you are creative, you can make pages for the proposal, e-party, bach parties, shower, rehearsal, etc.

That's a good idea! I got a Waterford cake server. I loved it and used it at the wedding. we got toasting flutes too, but were already planning on using my grandmother's. I still like them though. Maybe we'll use them for the next special occasion.

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
How about an engraved ice bucket? You can never have enough ice buckets at a party and engraved gifts are thoughtful. I think they have them at Williams Sonoma.

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
My friend gave us gift certificates for dinner and movies, as well as Cold Stone. She figured we would be saving money so that we could use them for dates.

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
honestly, I think the best gift is cash or a gift card to somewhere like BB&B.

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
They are still on the young side (23)... and I don't know how long it will be until they get married. I was thinking of putting together a binder (I felt that was most helpful to keep me organized, more than most of the planners) and I have a bunch of old planners and books I thought I'd pass on... I was thinking of making bride and groom build a bears and maybe doing a magazine subscription. I am at a loss for ideas... ring cleaner is always a good thing too!! I am just trying to think of something they can use NOW... they are both still living at home so a lot of gifts would just be put away.... The hoodie idea is cute... maybe I'll put together mostly stuff for my cousin and pick up a "idiots guide for the groom" or something for her FH...

ring cleaner, a magazine subscription and cash is a good gift as for the build a bears- cash is probably a better idea

Re: Engagement Gift ideas?
a gift certificate would be nice.. I agree with a magazine subscription, maybe a scarpbooking kit.. so she can make her own scarpbook!
congrats to your cousin and good luck!
