Engineered Flooring on a sub-floor
I need some help, and to pick the knowledgeable brains here. We are getting engineering flooring on the bottom floor of our split-level house. Its a subfloor for the most part. I've been told we should use a floated floor and I've been told glue down is OK. I know we can also use laminate, but we're not going that route. So I would just like any advice you have about glue-down vs. floating. THe product is Bruce. TIA!

Re: Engineered Flooring on a sub-floor
Definitely go with floating. We installed floating laminate ourselves and it's easy to do. Floating is cleaner (no glue mess), easy to install and probably cheaper. Real wood floating floors are installed in the same manner. Also, if the floor is ever damaged with floating you can replace sections easier.

Re: Engineered Flooring on a sub-floor
I have laminate flooring and it is really nice wide palnks. We decided to change them to engineered flooring which we purchased at Lumber Liquidators. It did not require glue and I love it! The pieces just snapped together.
