Entry Door/Front Door with Glass - what do you have?
We are the middle unit in a set of three townhomes - so our windows on the first floor are limited to the front and back of the house. Our kitchen is center so no window in there but it's open to the foyer, a small hall to the dining/living room and our office which all have windows/light...
You can see the front door from the kitchen (as well as other areas of the house since it's more of an open floor plan) and I was thinking it might be a good idea to get a new front door that has some type of glass in it, that way it would feel like there is another window in the house (when I'm at the kitchen sink for instance) and give more light.
I grabbed this photo off the web real quick b/c it's along the lines of the style I like:
something with a large glass area without any designs, stained glass, etching, frosting etc. in it (we have a plain side light on one side of the door and also one on top of the door and I think if we put anything fancier it would clash and I don't want to spend $ to replace those as well)...
The one concern I have is privacy. Can you put blinds on a door like this? Or do doors come with blinds inside the glass? Ideally I would want to get wood blinds that match with the rest of the windows but I don't even know if they make them for doors like the one I posted
So if you have a door with lots of glass do you have anything on it for privacy? Does it let in light? I never actually saw a door like this from the inside of a home but I think this is what I would like???
Anyway does anyone have any ideas? Pitures of their door? This is my foyer:
And this is what I meant when I said you can see the door from the kitchen:
Thanks!

No personal experience, since I have a stained glass door with privacy frosting. I did see that full window doors with internal blinds do exist, though.

Why not put on a storm door?
I used to have a door like this that led out to my patio in my old co-op I had a shaded that manually rolled up and tied at the top. It was really cute. I bought it at JC penny but I cant find it now. Not sure if you would want that for a front door tho.

This is what I was going to suggest. It will also protect the front door. The only time you really want the light is when you're home, right? So keep the front door open and the storm door locked.

If you are in a townhouse, are you allowed to change your front door? We aren't

I wouldn't put a storm door since you are in FL. You will not have the door open so the storm door will let light in when the AC is on (which is a lot in FL)
You can get blinds and if you dont want to spend the money on the frosting for the glass you can always do a frosting decal. My sister has them on her windows in the city to have some privacy without having the blinds down all the time and it looks really nice.

Well, it's going to have to be painted green on the outside to match the trim work on our house...but none of the front doors for any of the homes are visible from the street so they probably wouldn't even know if we didn't paint it...
We toyed with the idea of a storm door but we both think they are kind of annoying (we had one in NY) and we think a new front door would be fancier for the space instead of having to leave the front door open to let in the light. Besides the fact that if we got an interchangeable one my dog would go through the screen

I would do an all glass storm door, the all glass reg door is going to let a lot of cold air in, in the winter, brrrr
